Thread: Issues for September...
Texxie...ur idea lets try to run with it...
zarlor...be our voice...u are our only hope ![]()
CM's lets dump out issues here and try to get them fixed...
1) Fix the broken CM packs
Ok enough is enough fix the 13 chem release duration mechanisms for ranged E. Fix the 700+ CM med use on AOE diseases. Fix the advanced resilence mechanism so it loads. You guys did it for the architects no reason u cant do it for us.
2) Combat Medic Support line
Enough of this sry but CMs lose out on this round for fixes....thats BS. Do something with the combat line. Terrain Negotiation is a start but thats a slap in the face. First of all how does that make any sense at all in a class that doesnt even have scout as a prereq...But we still get no combat bonuses or moves even though we have to master a tree in marksman profession? Outside of CM med use, the support tree does nothing. Needs to have more content there otherwise it just looks like u are telling CMs that in order to use their main weapon, dots they need to master 2 trees (CM crafting and CM support). This is unacceptable unless u require BHs to need 2 trees for LLC or commandos 2 tree for each of their weapon classes. Suggestions to improve CM support: Defense bonuses, weapons speed and accuracy bonuses...accuracy while moving bonuses. Special moves of a defensive nature. More Terrain Negotiation. Also spread it out in the tree.
3) Viablility of Dots
OK Line of Sight is in....without arguing for removal of los again, Dots need to have longer range. Since we are required to no be in LOS and inside range to apply dots. we need longer range to compete. Also resist rates need to be examined.CM across the servers are having inconsistent results with resistrates. Even CMson the same servers have resist issueseven with similar packs. Since making DotsLOS in fact made them equivilent to a gun, resist ratesshould roughly equal miss rates for weapons. How about CM effectivenessplaying a factor in resist rates? The usefulness of disease needs to be examined. Right now many people consider them useful for nothing but greiving. One suggestion for disease could be make disease prevent healing and regeneration ofHAMs. Also, because of our increased visability due to LOS changes, in order to use our weapons we like every other combat class needs more defensive bonuses. This issue is directly linked to #2
4) Resources, Crafting and server differences.
Dots require resources. But resources are so different between servers that its hard to gauge the balance of the class...people on some servers are making extremely powerful dots while those on other servers are not making effective packs at all. We unlike the other classes that depend on special moves which have damage modifiers that are the same across servers, depend 100% on the quality of resources for our damage. Now this could be a boon or a drawback. But this is not anyway to base the viability of a class. Its extremely frustrating for some CMs to come to these boards with their poison stats and see other with poisons that are 2-3 times more effective then their just because they are on the "wrong" server. While its understood there will be variablity between servers, making a class complete dependant on the whims of resources shifts is complete unfair.
5) Lack of viability for non-Master CM
Granted that if you master a profession the benefits should be great. But thats not to say that until u become master that you are useless. However this is exactly the case for non-Master CMs. Because of the way the crafting tree in CM is set up, the ability to make more effective packs increases at 2x the rate as medic/doctor tree. This means that begining CMs see little benefits for being a CM until almost to master. This is just poor class development. The power of the lower packs could be ramped up then capped out to relieve this situation. Remember CM is an elite class that starts totally over again. New skills, new bonuses, new crafting tree. Thus an Novice CM is actually starting complete over again with his skills making it hard for him to be viable. The only other class that can even relate to this issue is the commando class. Since they too learn all new weapon classes and have zero skills carry over form their requirements...novice commandos are often weaker than master marksmans when using commando weapons. There must be a better way to ramp the power of the class in the lower levels without taking anything away from the upper CMs and masters.
Those would be my top 5 concerns for the class right now...
ppl put up ur top 5s
also try to keep the issues CM specific...
Issues like pet healing xp, consistant timers, survey/resource issues, tef and those are more medic issues and lets keep those on the medic issues list for now...just so we can keep the focus both here and there
lets worry about our class issues for now...
Grrr....
AllrightI tell you what. Since we seem to be on our own here, how about putting together not just a Top 5. but a list of ALL CM issues you guys can think of. I'll go ahead an run a vote on it, but I'll be using your wording, not mine. I'll compile the votes if you like and pass it on as the CM issues list.
SoI leave the hard work for you guys. I think I can sticky ont his forum, so I'll see what I can do once we get a complete list compiled.
Still. Sometimes general issues are just as, or more, important to a CM than they are to a general Med.
Oh, andI can't seem to sticky on this forum, sorry. You'll have to rely on bumps to keep it up.
Oh, hey! ActuallyI did float it here! So there we go, a thread for all issues. Any of the "medic" ones you don't want covered, don't vote for them.
If nothing elses this should help to clarify and consolidate the issues for whomever they do accept into the position (if anyone).
Drop the Major patch thread...
top 5 issues for this week
and the old weekly report flithy put up/...
keep the adding combat to CM thread tho...its still pretty active especially now post LOS nerf...
kick filthy's old list, xahn's post and elora's thread that can still hold his own and put this one up there:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=combat_medic&message.id=3542
On my forum I'd normally try to keep the old list, just in case there is a response to compare it to. (Should I repost Holo's notes that would otherwise appear to be our Response to sticky up there with it?) Or I can just drop it completely.
Ah, and personally I would never have stickied that Combat thread, since I would expect it to hold itself on it's own merits. There's not always a lof comments to be made on something like "here's the top 5 issues" so I kinda needs to be stickied. But since I'm already crossing lines I probably shouldn't be I want to get the most feedback I can.
