I'm almost a master cm and master doctor I find that groups still need me for my range heals and area heals as a cm. Plus nerfing stim Bs would really cut into the doctor money making department. I sell stim Bs speak from exp. In a good group ranged heals are stil better than my regular stims. I would lose alot more people or incap without my range heals. Sure I can rez too that helps but rezing removes buffs and people can't fight for 60 secnds after so I would prefer to save them from death to keep everyone useful in battle. So n the end my range hels are very valueable. Like someone said in another post a fighter would rather be healed in a group then use his/her mind to heal him/herself at risk of mind incap. Plus giving cms th eonly ability to heal in combat is very bad idea because most doctors at high lvls are never in the ed center I rarely am. I'm usually out heling group members. This was before I was a cm mind you. So I speak from a doctors point of view as well be very hard for us to get med exp without being able to heal in combat.

You want to be useful as a combat medic? Get on up to area stims. Failing that learn to target folks more quickly before they get skittish and heal themselves. Might mean you have to do a little less combatting and a bit more medicing but when you are a combat medic I'd say the medic part of the job takes priority.

If there is a combat medic around who keeps me healthy with ranged or area stims I'm glad to have them around. I hate nothing worse than when I have to stop fighting and heal myself then re-target and start fighting again, but if you can't keep me healed up then I am most certainly gonna heal myself up rather than wind up incapped or dead. You might just find my ability to heal people and apply first aid saves your bacon now and again too.

I'm not one of those elite class combat guys who took novice medic to use Stim B's. I'm a master artisan/pistol specialist/ranged support specialist with medic 2/2/4/4 (former Novice Doctor.) In combat I shoot things that need shooting, I heal myself, I heal others, I heal pets. Bottom line is if something needs healing I try to throw a heal into it before it drops dead.

But it is a valid point that low level Stims don't scale properly. I don't know if the answer is to make Stim-Bs require more medical usage or require fewer sub-components (and thus limit their max heal power), but ultimately, it would be nice if fully experimented Stim-Bs really were halfway between Stim-As and Stim-Cs.

Thats quite a title but I have good reason for it.

My question is what is cm really about. we have three tools at our disposel:

ranged stims
poisons
diseases

What is the point of a ranged stim if the novice doc / bh cures himself in one stim.
I can't even heal my friends because the heal themselves to full heath before i can target them. So now all we have is poisons and diseases. So we are now a combat only class? thats not what i signed up for! If i wanted that I would have gone BH/medic and spamed eyeshot.

Does anyone ever ask cm's to help in combat anymore, let alone doctors. At least they have buffs but those last for 2 hours. thanks see ya. If you die its a free ride home, so revive is only helpfull if you want to stay with the group.

Posible ways to fix it:

Combat medics get to heal in battle, they are the only ones with that abblity.

Increase the delay on stim heals to 10 fold for medic and doc class. Add the delay to the gun so they can't fire till its done. Reduce the delay using the speed tree much like healwound doesin the doc tree. This would require them to invest more points into medic and make them master it if they wanted the current lvl they have now.

Does anyone else have an oppinion?
I really like the first one because it adds to CM importance.
this would also fix the problems with mind damage being the only factor in PVP.

I agree with nerfing Bs. Ive been turned down from groups for 2 days because

1- Im not a doc and cant rez

2- Everyone with novice medic (everyone for the most part) can heal themsleves and dont need me. So they look for a Doc because of Rez and wound treatment.

Something needs to be done to make us a more viable class.

Your having trouble healing people lol. I'm a commando and anyways what I'm faced with often is never getting healed by anyone. One time I was in like a 10 man group and half of the people had either novice CM or novice doctor so they had fairly good healing abilties, I got incaped so many times cause not one of them would heal me. I kept telling them that I need healing and I didn't get any. Sot either: they hated me, they don't need the exp, or they are out of equipment. I wish I had medics in my group that would actully heal me, and I'm probably not the only one who has this same problem. Reasons why so many people need like novice medic and stim B's to survive, I can never depend on anyone.

Why dont they just base the medicine use skill of a stimpack on the stats. Just because it's a stimpack B doesnt mean it should have Med Use 5. If it has 400 base heal, as a stimpack B... the 400 base heal should raise the med use skill requirement. Having novice Medics with uber advanced stimpack Bs running around healing as well as I do is silly. I'm a Master Combat Medic.

let me give you guys a short briefing on the history of the Stimpack B:

way back in beta (when all was good and fun) the Stimpack B had a Med Use requirement of 20. basicaly you needed Pharmacology 2 to use it. All was good except 1 thing: schematic revocation. Soon enough, people would start reaching adv. Med Crafting but had invested their medicine experience in first aid or diagnose and voila, Stim A schematc gone, only B to craft but no-one could use it, no-one could get the exp to invest in Pharmacology and about every Medic was gated. The first fix was to move Stim B down to Med Use 5, not only relieving the Medics that got themselfs gated but supposedly creating a market for low-level medicines to sell. Later Schematic Revocation got dropped (Medics were the last class with it) because it just created to much problems. But Stim B never got changed back.

Today we see Master Docs crafting 450 base heal Stim B's and everyone is happy, except for those people that enjoy healing others.. not that there is anything to heal but mind damage in most cases...

stim Bs with 400 base heal? what server are you on? I'm a master doctor and using all the crappy advanced ingredients on starsider. I'm lucky to get my stim Bs to 300 base. Anyway as regards this post. I am a doctor/combat medic and I don't find it hard at all to get exp as a matter of fact I stopped hunting cause I was getting exp TOO fast and I didn't want to run out of stuff to do. What do I do? simple I hunt mostly with friends and guildies who understand that my role is to heal and theirs is to fight, ie they only heal themselves if for some reason my mind runs out. It's a simple matter to tell your group that. If they don't listen well poo on them you don't need em, a million other ways to get med exp real fast...and no it's not by exploting....

OK, I know I am going to sound a bit sarcastic here but this is my honest opinion.

Speaking as an almost MCM (just lack the last lvl in crafting) my opinion is that in NO way should combat medics be the only ones able to heal in combat. To tell you the truth I cannot imagine how or why you even came up with that idea. Oh sure, it would definitely make CMs more needed but for every group, hell, every individual to have to have CM skills or a CM with them to heal in battle?? Honestly, have you really thought that through?

If no one in a group needs or wants a CM in thier group, they either...
a. haven't worked with a CM that knows what he is doing or...
b. they need to fight something bigger than kreetles.

I don't mean to sound arrogant but I know, without a doubt, that every group I have been a part of since I have been able to toss a ranged B would have had several deaths without me there. Go with some good sized groups to Fort Tusken/Dantooine/Dathomir/Endor, you will see how much others value a good CM.

Sorry to sound so crass but Elanore is right, don't be looking to nerf others to try and fix us (which that definitely would not be a fix for).

CMs are pretty much critical on the harder planets ala dathomir/lok/endor. Especially whenever a group trudges into a pack of 1k+ hitting mobs. You think a doc could keep up with multipleplayers that will drop in 1-2 hits? I dont think so. Stand in the center of the group and spam those AOE heals. You can outheal a doc easily like this since you are healing multiple targets with 1 stim, rather than using 10 stims to heal 10 people. Master Doc/CM here. No need to degrade stim-Bs, thats for emergency healing when folks get out of range of the AOE and/or ranged stims.
