TKM and Brawler have great defences, with limited offence. I was thinking of adding the poision/desease ticks to increase my damage output. Rezing and healing arent a bad bonus either.

What does everyone think?

right now im TKM/MCM/3-4-4-0 in medic and im lovin it. The offense isnt all that great but i took tkm to focus on my defense, which is very high. There really arent any probles with it and soloing is fiarly easy because i can keep my health up and use poisons to slowly take out the enemy, great in pvp too

Quit as of 12-6-04

The rooting point is probably valid, but I'm loving my MCM/TKM/Swords Novice right now. I'm having loads of fun being the healer in groups who doesn't fear the aggro that can come with Bacta Spray. I haven't tried to solo anything too hard yet, though.

well he could easily just toss paralyse on you before you step out of 15m rangeto give him time to heal up, and while you are moving away most likely he has fire/poisoned you each which even in PVP i have noticed they do close to 240each tick, so while you are 40m away you are still taking damage from him.

He could also Electrolyte Drain him, making him move as slow as a slug. By the time you get near 40 meters away, the root would've worn off by then.

hey i forgot about that one, i always forgot that power, its icon looks close to paralyse so i sometimes accidently overlook it.

I like to do all the debuffs while he's /paralyzed since the debuffs don't break it and you can get 3 debuffs in before it breaks -- you just have to make sure that the people on your side don't fire on him while you're debuffing.

Do you guys not have Rifle Doctors on your servers or something? Simple. State heals and cures are better than the item being thrown right now. I enjoyed CM the first week it came out but Rifle Doctor with 0004 Pistols beats it hands down. I can heal anything put on me in paralysis.

Let me start:

Stopping shot roots and lasts 15 seconds. I am in range. If the CM is bad I use Startle next and have 5 seconds to make the distance of 15m to prevent paralyzing.

If the above doesnt work then I am rooted. Between Infusion, cures, and stabilizers, by the time I am unrooted I will be fresh and still ready to go. This is when I hit another Startle and move away.I have another 5 seconds of freedom and if you didnt move fast I now have more distance. In the event I can get this one off I will kneecap shot.

Say I'm rooted again though. I still have the ability to heal it all and since Spiced Tea Ahrisa Canape Mando Wine and a booster blue cut me close to ZERO mind cost I can heal forever.

Unrooted im ready for stopping again. Stopped then startled.

I take down CM and Jedi all day long with this template like they are nubs, even really good ones.

Point of fact IS to know your template. Mine is not an easy template to master, but it counters MANY different professions.

Uhh, I think that this is what the Devs mean by the CU being more strategy oriented. With the diverse number of templates out there, every single template's strategy has a counter-strategy that you can do if you can think on your toes fast enough. For everything you say you can do, another template can come in and say he can counter it if he were in that situation. And of course it all comes down to if you can think about it during the heat of the moment and execute the counter fast enough.

And just how do you plan on getting to within 10m of the target in a PvP situation to apply paralyze and electrolyte drain? In mass PvP you have a chance of getting lost in the crowd but in small actions there's no way. Stick to group healing. Its much more combat effective although the enemy will draw as much agro to you as npc's if they're smart.

Well said but there are MANY people still leading off with KD and dizzy because they don't appreciate the rest of theaspects. As a Doc Rifle I can beat a Master Defender. It takes awhile but I do it. On my other toon which is a Pistol CM I am the healer god who keeps people alive in the big time fights and large end PvE stuff with little problems.

You could run around the corner out of the guy's line-of-sight, wait until he follows you there, and paralyze him.

You could have a pistoleer or smuggler teammate root him.

You could knock him down yourself if you've got the special.

You could have a Jedi use stasis on him (stasis is a nasty Jedi ability).

... and all of this is assuming that the guy knows that you're a combat medic.

Again, I reiterate that the diversity of combat templates that are now possible ensures that combat will be different with every engagement. There is no longer just one strategy as pre-CURB (which was KD/Dizzy Hit the mind bar).
