dude instead of saying "in the FAQ" cant ypu say "in the geo caves" geez, i mean seriusly why you got to be so crap
The reason for the seemingly flipant answer is to drive them to the FAQ so that with luck they will catch other key information that they have not yet asked or even thought of. It was not mearly to be a smartazz.

Dude, instead of asking 'where is the fire spider located?' why can you just look in the FAQ? I mean, seriously, why you got to be so lazy?
The FAQ is up for a reason. It houses tons of information for anyone who is or wants to be a CM. Using it instead of posting questions repeatedlyfrees up space on the front page for any serious topics of discussion. If it's not in the FAQ, then sure, post away. But if it is in the FAQ, expect to be pointed to the FAQ for your information.
We're not here to coddle folks by handing them the easy answers because they either failed to see or blatantly ignoredthe "**FAQ** READ THIS FIRST" thread stickied at the top of the forums. Do some legwork yourselves for once, it's not that hard.
And thus endeth my rant on the FAQ...

Let's look at this thread.
- Original poster asks a question. Should have read the FAQ first, but didn't for whatever reason. Might be because he's lazy, might not be.
- Incomplete answer qiven.
- Snotty, elitist comment thrown in.
- Numerous posts about reading FAQs and unfriendly posts. Including one with the quote "Using it instead of posting questions repeatedlyfrees up space on the front page for any serious topics of discussion."
Let's look at an alternative;
- Original poster asks a question. Should have read the FAQ first, but didn't for whatever reason. Might be because he's lazy, might not be.
- Incomplete answer qiven.
- A fuller answer given, with a friendly pointer to the FAQ.
Which of these do you think will drop of the front page quicker?
Which of these would be more welcoming to a new member of our community, and encourage further posts?

- No forum police come in the make scathing remarks to the author of the FAQ, who instructed the original poster to go to the FAQ.
