whats going to happen to our resources with the CU? i haveabout 10million units of very good resources for adv components, and resources for the finished product, e.g insect meat, fungus etc.
so with all these new changes will the resources for adv components be changed? and what of rancor bile and spider venom? are they for the chop too?
im not sure weather to hold onto my stash of venom and bile or to start making stuff from it before the CU..... so confused i need a hug

Short answer is "we don't know". Long answer is we know that crafting is shifting to medic and BE. We've asked that any changed schematics continue to use the same types of resources and use the same formulas as our current schematics. We've also asked that our experimentation tapes somehow convert in a useful way.
My personal approach, even before the CU has been to spread my in-game "net worth" across multiple things. This has helped cushion the blow when one particular type of asset is suddenly devalued (like avian meat was when the 30K veteran rewards came out).

They won't ruin people's game lifes by changing all the resources. And you can still craft as you have Master Medic.

Pretend you never read the CU brief! It's set so much worry to all crafters
Best thing is to hang tight until the CU arrives, don't go selling everything in a mad panic. I know it's hard to wait, but just keep crafting normally - 4-5 weeks is a while away!

"They won't ruin people's game lifes by changing all the resources. And you can still craft as you have Master Medic"
Slightly patronizing in tone... my guess is you haven't spent hundreds of hours gathering 900OQ resources and driving your speeder to remote planets 5000m from any shuttleport at 3am.
Of course nobody's lives are going to be ruined, but you're talking about hundreds of hours of dedication and creation. You shouldn't bejudgemental about which you have no idea. Just because surveyors don't participate in the GCW or combat doesn't mean their efforts should be disregarded and minimized like you have done here.
SWG was created with the intent that support characters such as merchants, artisans, surveyors, etc were to be an important step in the process. If new HAM changes alter the buff system, as it likely will, it is very possible ALL the buffs and stims will have new ingredient lists. Meaning all their effort and time will be negated... unless they protect the current schematic lists and ignore this fellow here that I quoted.
Combat Medics are at the mercy of quality resources and it would suck if all the surveyors get frustrated and quit because they bombshell the schematic lists. We'll be tossing rocks.
Protect the Schematics!!!

I've been a Master Chef in 10 months now. I've spend at least at much hours as you collecting resources, even more hours updating SWGCraft. Now that I'm also collecting Weaponsmith and Combat Medic resources, I'm spending even more time collecting the best.
No, Chefs and WS are not in the same line of change as moving the crafting line out of our profession, but do you think SOE would dare changing resource requirements for top-of-the-line stims and throwables? They would lose a lot of customers that way.

At the moment it's very difficult to find these resources - let alone good quality stuff. Two thumbs up.

I think it highly unlikely that they'd alter resource requirements - I'd assume that they are just shifting the crafting to BE without altering it. BEs are finally going to rake in that cash.

The following is written by the Ex-CM Correspondent in another thread;
"You won't need a BE to make the meds. The BE's make 'enhancers' that simply enhance your natural ability. They won't be required, they'll be optional.
As for sending Psi off to fight the battle... you all who are against it should go fight the battle in Blairs thread."
Sounds we will still have crafting.

While I'd like fungi, insect meat, non-ferrous metal to remain needed for our products, let me pose a question.
How would you feel if the "rare" resources got removed as requirements.
Titanium Aluminum
Eleton Gas
Tolium Gas
Class 1 Radioactive
Liquid Petrochem
This isn't about the CU. I'm just posing a question. Personally I'd like to get our resource requirements toned down a bit.

Not like we will complain if the rare stuff gets dropped
But of course it is one of the things that keeps us down a little, so to speak. We are already very unpopular in pvp battles due to our area dots. With easier resources, there will be more poisons and such available, which can translate to more cm's. I kind of like the system now, only the ones who really put in the effort get the good stuff. I fight other cm's alot and laugh off what they throw when compaired to what I dish out. It took me almost a year to stockpile the best stuff chilastra ever spawned. I feel like I worked hard for that so it makes sense my stuff is better.
After the CU, all bets are off. I do feel we should get some sort of resource change. Due to the large stockpile I have, I will be able to start making the best of whatever we will be able to use right off the bat. So that seems a little unfair, since everyone is going to be sort of starting over. I am curious on the venom and bile tho, I have a house full of that stuff, hate to see it all go up in smoke. If it does, so be it, I'll just start over with whatever new things we have
