I posted this somewhere else before, but I don't think anyone gave it the time of day, so let us see how it goes here! Thanks for you input!


I have noticed that fighting in Star Wars Galaxies has become completely based on who can heal faster and better. At times, I feel like the only one who doesn't have a healing profession. I was brainstorming a few ideas today, and came up with something that may be useful to the game. To some it may sound crazy, but I think it works. There should be an overdose effect. If you are healed too much, in an established amount of time then you become sick and lose action regeneration, health, and so on. I feel it should be implemented and would possibly save combat from all healing. Please, if you have ideas to add on to this, add them. Or if you have an argument against, I am willing to accept your criticism. Just HELP me out!

That wouldn't be too bad, but people still take spices before battles even though there is a downer so I'm not sure if it would have mucheffect.

I took suggestions from my cousin and a couple things he suggested were as follows:


1) Only Master Combat Medics should be able to heal consistently in battle.


2) Doctors should be able to heal outside of combat only.


3) Medical droids should have a small effect on healing and actual hospitals should be superior.


4) Overmedication should result in massive regeneration loss.


5) Get rid of the setting on fire for MCMs. . .that's just ridiculous that they do more damage than a flamethrower's fire.


There we go, I agree with what he has to say, more feeback would be nice!

id be fine if our fire dot was acid damage. They just made it fire for another damage type id bet.

As for the healing overdose concept i dont relay like it. Doc is already not that usefull taking them out of combat compleatly is gimping them for nothing. They spent skill points just like everyone els.

A doctor should be one who sits back and heals wounds and buffs, that is what they are good for! It is hardly a combat profession. I agree that the fire should be changed to acid, good idea.

Basically what I am saying is, there doesn't have to be a lot of Doctors, and there shouldnt be. But they are a necessity to the game and that's why there will still be a few around if these changes occur (doubt it).

thats not really true anymore, being master doc just for wouunds would be pointless. Unless they give docs decent(very very good)buffs then this wouldn't work

My cousin also suggested more wounds, making it so doctors aren't completely worthless. But agreed, does sound pretty boring.

I swear docs used to give very very good buffs upto Mid May '05 i think it was, now what could have caused it to change??

Gettin' real tired of seeing these benchwarmer comments about Doctors.


You guys shouldn't even have the ability to rezz. And how about you lobbing heals at people from as far out as my pistol can shoot? Maybe your arms should get tired after you toss like 3 things and have to have a Doctor help you.


Seriously, leave it alone. It's a game.


Doctors are the CM antithesis. If Doctors get pushed to outside of battle, you'd need to lose the majority of your abilities to balance it out.
