DOT's gonna be the same power and duration as before??
Anybody gonna test them??
Will nerfed dot's even up things for cm / bh vs jedi??
Why did dot's get out of kilter to start with??
Any thoughts??

Nobody said this was a nerf, it is just a bug, hopefully fixed now

have they ever said "nerf" before a change was implimented?
again I ask...why are the dot's screwed up to begin with? weren't they working fine before?

Code is more complicated than you thing, the hotfix on friday was to turn off all maint but all the DOTs were effected, even tho they have nothing to do with eachother, it still broke.

just count your "tics"for duration and power on another toon, npc's also..if all is well, fine and dandy...

I'm no CM, but I had a friend bleeding for hours from a Torso shot, crafters are getting a "cannot craft while on fire" bug, etc...

it was a bug. its fixed now. dots arent that important in the big picture. your debuffs and healing help you out far more then the measly dots. if cm gets nerfed, it wont be the dots, thats for sure. possibly the attack speed debuff could be reduced from 40% to 20% or something
but lets not even go there...

DoTs are a necessity when fighting jedi. You really need every advantage you can get.DoTsdo~500 damage every5 seconds, this forces the jedi to heal more often which in turn lowers mind and takes up a turn. In "the big picture" they are incredibly important, believe me.

Great questions. I also do not buy that this "bug" just happened. They were in the system that controls DoTs and did something. There is no other explanation. It seems impossible to me that housing or city maintenance would be tied in any way, shape or form to a combat system. Something is rotten in Denmark. (no offense to to those in or from Denmark)

dot's aren't necessary butdo help things along. it's the difference between a 20/30 min fight and a one hour fight. whatever they do i don't care....i'll adjust my template and continue to pound. i think jedi don't realize that master cm/bh is beatable by jedi with good sabers adn the right template...and that's what it should be. the bh using this temp effectively are doing so because they know what they are doing and common sense dictates they use it, but take it away, and there's tons of other temps we can use just as well. nerf it and trust me, we'll show you

It could be possible (unlikely, although knowing the spaghetti coding of this game it's possibility has shot through the roof) that the weay the maintenence 'ticks' for cities works is piggy backed on the system that makes DoT's 'tick' and when tehy shut off city maintenece they inadvertantly shut off the system it piggy backs which stoped DoT's working, you never know with SOE and unless someone inside SOE goes rogue and tells us we will never know.

They did shut down maintenence on harvesters and houses without any problems......
