Well my Tesra had a full template so I was free to respec as I wanted, I have about 2 weeks to decide... Star was a master doc but she was not a full template so she was a bit limited.
So with Tesra I thought it would be fun to make her master of a combat proffesion as I have never masted one. Got pretty far up a few, but i was mainly a healer/crafter. I love MD. I loved making great buffs, trying to beat out the best on the server.
Now I come back and everything is wack. I always wanted to be CM so I thought, why not? So right now Tesra is a MCM and MPistoleer. I faught some level 60 something players (I am 80) and they whoppped my butt. Now they are WAY more savy then me as I am not much of a fighter, but I wouldn't expect to get my butt kicked SO FAST being more "powerful".I think it shows with this new system its about smarts, not power.
So I have no idea what to do, I went hunting some BOLS on Dant which I don't think are that high level or awful, and I was getting aggro' like crazy and I didn't feel like I was doing much damage, and I poisned them and set them on fire and I didn't see it making a huge impact.
I want to get the thrill back I had with doc, of being a great support character and seeing the help I gave have an impact. With doc now I notice we only heal red bar and really most people are healing themselves....

I am also a recent returnee and just yesterday respecced much like you (MCM, MPistol, Novice Doc to be exact, together with 4 branches of FS stuff, unapplicable to this template except some minute ranged defense).
To test it out I took a level 81 rebel npc mission (I was on leave atm, so it was a small pirate camp). I took out, one at a time, two level 81 pirates without armor using this template.
Some questions: What weapon do you have? I found a cheap (38k) 297 DPS pistol (the MCM specific one) which got up to 336 DPS with a damage PUP. Do you use armor (as I said I didn't)? Did you attack multiple mobs at once? When you say "some level 60", how many at once? I also took out, for fun, a spawn of lvl 45-46 NPC's, taking on 4-6 at once (wanted to try my cone shots). Which attack did you select as your auto attack? I found that quickdraw was good, due to its speed and relatively high damage (seems better than body shot - less damage but hits more often). Did you use all your available heals? Stims? (I have 4 different heals, you have three unless you also get novice doc).
That said, I haven't tried the template a whole lot, but I was happily surprised last night. Primarily because I enjoyed playing it. Not a damage powerhouse, but a nice debuff setup with great group utility (aoe/ranged heals, especially if/when they adjust healing aggro which I heard is a bit high now).

Hey I did novice doc as well to get some of the other bacta stuff.
I must not be doing it right, I ment PVP duel for the level 60 person, just one.
I guess I need to go and try some NPC's, I have a really good featherweight pistol which is better then the master CM weapon. My alt Star has the master CM weapon and I was very happy with it on her, but I was just support and i set some krayts on fire while my two guildies beat its butt. She is supposed to be an MD/MCM.
I guss i dont know what im doing and thats why its not fun yet lol.

You guys need to learn to use ALL your skills, the days of just standing there and letting them hit you for negligible damage due to monster buffs and armor are over.If you're a Master Pistoleer and MCM, my advice when going up against any large creature is to use:
1) Electrolyte Drain: This slows the target down so you can keep your distance from them and not take too much damage.
2) Stopping Shot: Roots them to the ground.
3) Paralyze: If they do manage to get close to you and you can't use Stopping shot yet, try this one. If you've already hit them with a DOT then it won't last more than a couple of seconds but it helps put some distance between it and you.
4) Firearm Strike: Knocks them down to the ground and gives you a bit of breeathing room
5) Intimidate Shot: Reduces the amount of damage they can cause to you when they do hit you.
6) Remember to take food along with you that will help keeps your stats to par with the amount of specials you'll be using.
7) And VERY importantly, if you're on your own, try not to take on more than one at a time.

Ah, now if you're talking about pvp, there's a lot more to consider. One thing I can tell you with pvp that's helped with me is if you're up against a single player then don'tuse DOTS. Reason being that you can paralyze them when you need to and heal yourself to full strength. Then get back into the fight.
More than anything though is to just practice. It takes time to figure out what specials, weapons, armor, and very importantly FOODS, work for you. ![]()

true, so very, very true!
there are many, many people out there using Pistoleer successfully. i however am NOT one of them. for me, carbines are king. more power than a pistol and more speed than a rifle. however i am sure you can make pistol work
that having been said, i can solo level 80 and 81 mobs without real concern. i will NOT post the clickie again because my fellow MCMs will beat me to a pulp, but if you run a search for a thread called "fun on Dath" i have posted a screenshot of me finishing off the third of a group of level 80 Rancor that attacked me on Dath. take a look at the number of states i have stuck on the Rancor...
CM debuffs are great! they work in CONJUNCTON with the DoTs and your weapons to make quite a powerful overall effect. each taken individually is not particularly useful or powerful but again it is about a cumulative effect.
it is the same thing with CM healing. you have to learn to cycle through ALL of your heals to keep yourself and your group alive. bacta toss, bacta shot, bacta spray and Stim-Ds will keep you and your party up and fighting for a long, long while
*Edit*
just for giggles i added the link to the screen shot to my sig

I have almost the same template you do so i'll give you some of the strats I use. (Some background info is I kill knights solo and am head of PvP training for the Imp alliance on chimaera)
First off how well you prepare for a fight will determine its outcome even before your first strike usually.
For that template Eat vercupi, vegespire(for fighting melees), and pikatta pie.
For drinks use Ruby Bliel(decrease stim timer by 30s)and deut-pyro (+210 accuracy for 52s)
For spice use booster blue
Stim d's use at least 1110 effectiveness ones with 29-32 uses
With armor you need at least 7k energy resist or 7k compo resist if you fight kinetic users.
I would suggest mabari if you wear cyber arms or ubese if you don't.
Get yourself a DL44xt with at least 850 max damage and 95 or lower sac (with 2 or less speed)
Also get a featherweight fwg with at least 940 max dmg and 95 or lower sac (2 or less speed also)
This will let you effectively fight both composite and recon users.
You also need to buy your enhancers. Bacta enhancers will raise toss to over 1k healing capacity and spray to over 900-1k.
Make macros for them also. (Buy the ones with 1110+ effectiveness only)
The one I use is just a simple /bactatoss self;
Also buy your poison/thyroid/fire dot enhancers. They make a huge difference in fights in my opinion. (buy the 1245 effectiveness ones)
If you want to hunt jedi then pick up bh 3x1x , but if you want just normal pvp pick up carbs x44x with electrolyte and the carb snares they will never be able to move more than maybe a few feet.
Start off your fights with KD+Disarming shotor paralyze and hit them with thyroid first off, then hit them with eitherdisarming or para depending on which one you used previously and apply all your other debuffs/states to them. Then hit them with your dots, but watch your hp andheal accordingly. Use your weapon asif it were another fast acting dot as it's just one source of your damage. If their hp gets to about half hit them with KD+ para and open up on them with your specials. With 95 sac and a speedor dmg pup you can do a lot of damage really quickly and won't drain your action much. Then just reapply poison/states as needed and you'll do just fine.

TKM/CM
Having a blast. I can tank and heal myself. the 2 dots go miles toward offsetting the lack of TKM damage. Takes a while to kill stuff but theres nothing my CL+5 or so that I fear.

Have you tried adding commando 4000 to your TKM/MCM so you can also use thermals?

I'm not sure of what great advantage they are , but you can be pretty much fully qualified for them easily foranother elite damage type
