One of my characters is a Master Combat Medic and Master Doctor.

I was wondering if I should drop the Doc for Master Pistols, or keep the Master Doctor with my Master Combat Medic.

Anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks

Right now my character is MCM and master carbineer. I'm loving it because its such good support for group PvP. I definitely suggest it if that's what you like doing.

Pistoleer is good because it matches the 35m range of the CM specials.

Doc is also good because of the self buffs and superb heals.

About the Heals:

MDOC has Healing Eff 105
MCM/Medic044 has Healing Eff 100

Any big difference herE?

The healing efficiency doesn't affect the heals as much as the improved or advanced versions of a heal sadly. There will be a slight increase but not that much. +25 is better of course but even that extra bit isn't much thanks the the diminishing returns scale used with efficiency.

As far as the original question goes: Having both doctor and CM is great for support but not as much as it was in the past. You still have the ability to buff and the advanced infusion is nice but the rest isn't all that great. You'll still eat up your MIND bar with foods and spice quickly and it will still regen slowly and you'll still gather so much agro from healing that you'll blow your mind bar mostly on yourself. Healing DoT's is about the only real justification skill point expenditure for both healing professions.

I recommend you pick up a combat profession of your choice. If you go with ranged you will still have enough points to spend on mastering one and a partial profession. In my case I went MCM/MRifles. Instead going up the pistol root or intimidate tree I went doctor 2/2/0/0 which gave me a basic infusion and all of the DoT heals. While it allows for ALOT of pve and pvp medical support I also have some combat ability to hold my own. I regularly solo level 82 bols and pickets when helping jedi friends level which wouldn't be possible without my combat profession.

In essence, its no longer all about mastering a profession anymore. The dev's compounded the dabbling problem and made it a necessity now.Double masteringhas become redundant

"The healing efficiency doesn't affect the heals as much[...]"

How much aprox. is the difference between MCM(Heal. Eff = 80) and MCM/Medic0440(Heal. Eff = 100) in points with:

a) bacta shot
b) Advanced bacta toss
c) Advanced bacta spray

I am thinking about to go for:
1) MCM/MCarb/Medic0440/Pistoleer0004

OR if this is useless i'll go for:
2) MCM/MCarb/Medic0400/Pistoleer0404

Another question:

How much aprox. would a MCM/Doctor4000 heal (in points) using and what would the cooldown timer be:

a) Improved Bacta Jab
b) Improved Bacta Infusion
c) Improved Bacta Shot

Thanks, Jitt

I considered adding mdoc to my mcm temp, but I decided against it. I ended up with MCM, MPistols, and novice doc. I really like the temp. I got real good heals, and I am not totally reliant on my mind bar to state, which was the deciding factor for me. When I am the lone healer in a large group I quickly eat up my mind while stating, doting, and healing, even with food, pistols lets me keep stating in these situations while healing/doting with little fear of running out..... Mcarbs and Mpistols both help in this regard. I get more use out of MPistols specials then I did Mcarbs personally.......The only thing I miss from carbs is the kd.
