Thread: City Warn
At the time their was alot fo griefing and I'm sure if the yput it back their would be more.
But I kind of miss the ability to go into a town not knowing if I will be shot on sight heh. Keeps me on my toes. maybe have it tell you that you can be shot when you first enter a town so if you don't want to risk it you can turn back around.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
rebel city keeping Imps out

Player cities are limited, and because there are a finite number of them, making it possible to render this area of content unaccessable to a given individual is wrong. All player cities belong to all people, not just a select few. A guild may be responsible for a city coming into being and growing, but that does not make that city the property of that guild. Player cities belong to all players, and giving the managers of a city the ability to exclude others for any reason is just wrong.
Player cities are mis-named. They should be called Player-created cities. Player cities denotes some for of ownership, which some people believe to be true. No matter how much of your resources, or time, or whatever individuals put into a city, it belongs to every player on that server and should be accessible to them.
If you have a problem with someone in a town, you /report him or her and let the CSR's deal with it. Players simply can't be trusted with any sort of power.
First thing.. /cityban is STILL in game
Not that it actually works the way that it should but it is there.
Second.. how can you say that ALL player cities belong to everyone?? I'm sorry, but my city on Gorath belongs to those that live there and call it home. Those that support the city at any and all costs. I'm sorry, you're obviously not part of a fantastic player city that gives this game a community feel.
The problem that came in is when the DEVS did not put no build zones near POI's. Do i agree with the people that use /cityban and /citywarn for their own personal pleasure? Hell no i don't. They need a good slap upside the head.
Now I do believe /citywarn should be reinstated, but with a 3-5min timer. This way when you /citywarn someone they have 3-5min to get out of the city. I think this is a reasonable solution to all those that feel that they have been "griefed" by the previous system considering it was only a 30sec timer before. You can still access POI's easily even if you have been city warned because nobody can say that 5min is not enough time to get out of even the biggest Player City.
That's just my two cents ![]()
IF city is using its Citywarn in a way to keep people away from the POI then the CSR's can just take that cities ability to citywarn away..
Their fault for mis using it and being near a POI if they don't like it move the city.
They land at a time when we are low on players (we are quiet certain times of the day) with their nice gank squad of jedi knights doing their best to get missions on the paddies grinding out of our town.
We've had people sit in our town refusing to move whilst they give our rude remarks to the guild.
In both cases all we can do is /cityban them which prevents them from using our vendors, cloning center, terminals and supposidly shuttle ROFL! yet they can still wander aroudn our town freely, city warn would mean that they could (in most cases) be ejected from the town so we can continue to socialise in peace in our personal haven.
In summary citywarn is useless, we need something that actually stops them from entering our boundaries (we arent near a poi or anything of interest) or at least penalise them if they do.

Wow, I wish you were on my server. That way, since they are "everyone's", you could drop your donations into our city treasury. The folks on Starsider must think you are great.......
you are donating to all of "your" cities, right?
