Thread: Has the time come for the 10 lot megaplex? (Discussion)

I assume you feel the Guild Hall's to be too small, and you are right. But the problem is that the Devs have decided to try and limit the number of items we can have. It it stupid? Yes. Does it work? No. But until they give up this anti-player rule, we wont see anything like this. On a more practical note, this sort of thing would also be pretty hard to place. The footprint for it would be huge, and it would be limited in location. But I admit, having a "strip mall" or "museum" would be very cool.
Personally i think the guild hall is kinda akward one large room with a few smaller one's at right angles and storage type rooms below doesnt make for an effective personal palade. Though it does it self justice in being a guild hall. Item limits are a B*** i have 1 char 2 large houses and 2 PoB's i have no interest in being a jedi to get a 2nd char (though i would like one) and ama full combat template so i am verry limited in what i can store. And i pick up an incredible amount of crap. I would like to see a storage modual where you can throw your crap in with an endless item limit, but that's just wishfull thinking on my part.
Back to the subject at hand.... its a tough call because on the one hand it would be interesting to design a new house from scratch but how the hell am i gonna shift all my stuff if i already have pretty much taken up every last item limit i can (that's including droids and pob's and the safety deposit box) and i did say almost. Per haps a temporary 20million item storage system for ppl that are moving?
I like this idea.
I'm all in favor of more options for players. And I agree with the poster who stated that the Devs have been trying to limit the item counts that this will most likely never be implemented.
But all the same I'd like to have more options for housing and would love to have larger storage capability for "all me booty Arrgh!"
Id love to see this - but id add one more thing - id put the majorityof it UNDERGROUND. a Small tower on the top would conserve city space and downstairs could be as large as ya want because it would be underground -
Would still be nice if it took up a bit more space above ground than just a tower, this way it's more impressive looking to passers by. I'm thinking something like the Darklighter estate on Tat.
I'd love to own a ranch as I have no need for housing except for storage and display so this type of house would be perfect for my toon.
NAH....................the easier solution would be to have anything and everything you place ONLY cost 1 lot. Houses, factories, harvs, guildhall etc. doesn't matter just 1 lot each. Voila more storage instantly and no new buildings to have to make. Just some small coding changes and done. I'd rather see that.
I agree on the 10 lot megaplex idea. 1000 item limit is nice but would also be nice if there was a built in storage bin (much like your safety deposit box) that only the owner could access and would hold an additional 200 item storage. Maybe take up the footprint the size of a large house and the majority of the building be under ground like said before. I think we should have access to own buildings very similar to those in major cities. Like the cantina in theed or the huge theater in theed. Some guilds are huge and guild halls just dont cut it for player events within the guild or even server wide player events held in your own city.
And, whens this pack up feature supposed to hit? It has been pushed back 2-3 publishes so far.
Add my vote for big city appartments and player craftableskyscrapers and estates.
I hear EQ2 has something like instanced appartments but no player cities.
The problem with the huge estates would be finding the room to place them. But making them really expensive would probably limit the number of them. I think you'd have to make that also allow for multiple 'residents' so the local town could get credit for more than 1 citizen from such a huge structure.
