I have always wondered why I could not place any items on my rooftop balcony porch area.
I have a Tatooine house and there is this really nice space that I can do absolutely nothing with. Give me the ability to decorate this part of my house please! I realize it is coded as being "outside" and thus the reason we cannot decorate that area. But isn't there some way this part of our houses could be allowed to be decorated?
I mean c'mon my Wookiee wants to barbecue a Bantha out there!

Good idea! I think we should also have a small bit of space outside where we can drop items, so we can make gardens and other stuff.

There is kind of a way to decorate... but you have to be in a player city to do that. You can place trainers, street lamps, ect. up there.
But I wish you didn't have to be in a city to decorate. I want to put chairs out there and stuff.
I've always thought that.
It would be cool if, like another poster said, we could also have a little space around the house (20 meters maybe) where we could put chairs, plants, statues, ect. out there.

it would be extremely easy to code it, however it wouldnt be good for the server, you would have to load it all in. an idea though would be it only spawns when u actually enter the house, or something similar

Because it would be viewable from outside, I think it would cause some rendering lag, just passing the house. Probably the best we can hope for is for some standard furniture setting on all porches and such so that all houses "look" that way. Benches along the outer walls could help too.

I've always thought that something like a "transparent wall" would be the answer.
It's sort of like the way that doors work (especially on non-tatooine guild halls) where you can see into the building but you can't see any items inside the building.
Once you actually cross the threshhold of the door, all the items will begin to load for you.
So you drive past a house and don't see anything on the balcony.
You go into the house and all the objects load so when you walk out on the balcony, there they are.
If anyone drives past, they see you on the balcony but no items.
This also means that it wouldn't rain on you while you sat up there, either.

True, but no one says it has to be viewed from outside. You know how when you enter a house it takes a while for all the items to load? Perhaps only the porch items would be viewable only from the inside after you enter the structure. Like somone said, you can *sort of* place stuff on the porch. But only the mayor can place things like lamps, statues, trainers, and even mission terminals I think. Although this comes out of the treasuries pocket, and is not completely accesable to all the citizen. Wouldn't be fair if one guy had all this stuff on his porch, unless he paid a weekly fee. But I do like the idea of placing furniture. I also like the 20 meter radius thing, but this probobly wouldn't work. The loading might be troublesome.
By the way, 5 stars.

Being able to actually sit at a bench in a garden would be nice...

5 stars!!!!!
We direly need to be able to put furniture on the balcony's. Especially on guild halls, like the Naboo's that have huge open spaces for parties along with huge walls blocking the view of any passer-by. Please, let us put furniture outside
