I could live with this if the items were considered "inside" the house and only load up when you enter. That would satisfy me.

I think this is a great idea. This not only moves structures beyond just a place to leave your stuff, but also promote spending (think lawn chairs, pools, etc). I can also imagine player sponsored events like parties: Imagine competitions for what guild has the best parties... This would open up the demand for more entertainers and chefs too. Possibilities are promising!

if you made it so you could place items 20m round you house there would have to be a 40m gap between 2 houses so both could have their 20m sotage round the sides maby somthing like 3-5m but never 20m. would let me make a big rubbish heap in my city.

Good point about items around the house. I really could live without that.
All I really want to be able to do is decorate the Balcony/Porch area.
Maybe for the outside part of teh house they could code in something that would allow plants/flowers/trees native to the area your house is in to grow right beside the house? Not sure that would work well though.
Anyways...............just let me deco my Proch please!!!!!!!!!

Though it might be an eyesore, it happens. People sometimes use thier lawns as a junkyard. It is something for the residents for the city to deal with. Mayors could have "ordinances" so that citicens are warned not to do it. If the problem persists, then other citicens could put pressure on the offending resident. If all else fails, then the sloppy citizen couold be "escorted" out of town by your freindly niegborhood stormtrooper

I would love to be able to decorate the stage on my theater, but, alas, it's considered OUTSIDE...

And if they did it then theatre's could be viable too.. its hard to put on a play with no set.

Yes, complete and total agreement with this idea.
The Devs said a while back that they were developing a system that would let players decorate the rooftops of their PA Halls and by default expand to homes with balconies and other such areas but we've never heard back on it.
