In order to address all the empty buildings and merchant tents, why not give mayors the power to condemn. Say for instance the Mayor condemn's the structure and the owner has 10 days to remove the building. The city council can do it in real life why not give it to the Mayor here. Just a thought in trying to clean up the mess. What ya think? Oh did I spell Condemn right?

What kind of rule would you have in place so that a mayor does not go crazy on the city?¿?¿ Some people can have fun in strange ways while drunk playing this, hehe

What prevents a mayor from condemning an active player's house? What if they go on vacation for 11 days?

What you could do is destroy after 10 days a building the game thinks of as condemed. That would be one with no maint in it already.

They enacted it so that you wouldn't have to worry about it and to preserve the assets of players that left that they want to attract back with game changes, expansions, veteran rewards, movies, and other gimmicks.

Hmm... Catering to the needs of the non-paying customer, at the price of your paying customers who are trying to build your in-game communities? Sweet rule![]()

Our Theatre was finally condemned yesterday. This theatre is empty, located in the worst spot, and the owner hasn't logged in for months and months. I asked a CSR how long it would take before it disappeared, and he said it would take up to six months. Is this reasonable?
*We also have a cantina that belongs to an inactive account. This one will take a long time before the owner's bank account runs dry. Once it does, we'll wait another six months? (I forecast the Winter of 2006)

Honestly, how many people quit over issues like this? Not many. How many inactive accounts have been reactivated after an expansion or promotion? Quite a lot.

Very true. Peoplereactivate because of an expansion...and not necessarily because their house and belongings hung around for a year after they went inactive.

But their equipment sticking around is a nice marketing point for SOE.

how about the ability for a mayor to "move" a condemed house to a part of town where it is not in the way, create a road of death or something, the current system is just a pain for people wanting their cities to grow further.
