hello

i am the mayor of Meridian on tatooine, and i have problems with my city...

alot of players has left their houses in my city after deleting their account or gone playing Wow or something..atleast they have been gone fer months and thei houses take up wanted room in my city.

New players wanting room for their house get a "no sorry thers no room" cause thers 2 many ghost houses around.

I am sick and tierd of this new update they added, b4 we only needed 2 wait until the house was - 100 % in maintanace then it would go poof, but now when this happens the money start sucking monrey from their account and stays put fer 6 months..!!!

that just 2 long if you ask me ! I have tried tiem and again to get CSR to help me, but with NO luck, cause they want players that come back to find whet they left in order.!

geez ..

I know all the ppl who live and has lived in my city, and i tols CSR i could even supply them with a list of players who are NOT coming back...or players that have deleted theirs chars on this server..but NOOOO!! that did not help, there is NO help to get...it makes me sooo angry !!!

a mayor should be able to Evict player's house after a certain amount of time....and the player could get everything dopped in a "magic" container storing ALL their stuff until they coem back ( a container yu only can take things out of )

I am wonderinf what to do...what can I do? must I move my city? is that the ONLY option left to the maypr if he wants a nice city with room fer all players? keep moving around whenever a city has 2 many ghost houses..BAH! its unheard of! get these empty houses away! i want the old system back, 6 months it too long to wait !!!

CSR and Devs should really do something about this!!

anyother mayors have this probem?

Ps: and no i dont let just anyone drop a house in my city....and No i dont have a BIg draft in my guild.

have a nice day!

I feel your pain. We spent a lot of time and effort in building a orderly city including a real nice marketplace. Over half of the merchant tents are empty and abandoned. With all the abandoned buldings in the most travelled areas of the city it "looks" like a ghost town when it is not.

Please give mayors the right to impose "Imminent Domain" and implode abandoned player structures within our city!

I agree. It's very frustrating. SOE should think more about how their PAYING CUSTOMERS feel about structure decay vstailoring the gameto inactive accounts. In most businesses, the paying customer rules. What's going on here?

But, luckily I know... SOE understands my frustration and sincerely apologizes for my inconvenience. Should I need assistance with any other issue in game, I should feel free to contact them again. When I have finished with my tickets, I will remember to delete them.

I think those who did actually DELETE their character, those sturctures go away. I know of 1 example, where someone deleted there character, forgot about 2 harvesters and then created a new character. within 2 days, the 2 harveters went POOF.

Housesare not deleted automatically after 6 month condemned state.

Ghost housesare only deleted,if player returns and deletes house or there is character/housing purge.

Sadly there is no way to remove ghost houses, I have also tried many times. Also seems that now even deleted toons houses dont poof, as I have at least one i know for sure is still there and i contacted the person who said they deleted the toon and cancelled the account. *shugs* so looks as if we will continue to house these empty structures for awhile longer at least.

Then, our only hope is "The Purge".

We should be able to get help from Customer Service on this. I know CS aren't allowed to move/delete houses, but SOE should adjust their policy. At this point, I'd be happy to get the condemned/inactive structures moved to onecorner of the city. Beats being right next to our shuttleport.

BUT...that's just wishful thinking. Reality is that the structures will remain. Customer Service is not allowed to and therefore will not remove them. And, we'll have to wait for "The Purge" which isn't even on the 'to-do' list/schedule.

BTW...Can anyone confirm that the reason that they're letting these structures float for soooooo long is hopes of bringinginactive players back after the CU? Condemned/inactive structures make the galaxy an ugly place and take up space that could be used by the paying customer. And, if I were inactive and thinking about returning, my houses and belongings wouldn't play a factor in my return. The game would. That's why SOE should put more focus on fixing what's broke, and improving their Customer Service.

Note: SOE Customer Service agents have always been very nice and polite. But I'm referring to getting help when you need it. They're good people. Maybe it's a policy thing.

I said too much, and my lunch break is almost over...Peace

I don't think that anyone can confirm this and it would not be wise from SOE if they would say "Hey! We didn't cleanup up ghost houses and let paying customers to form new cities, because we are hoping that inactive players are coming back." But all this "waiting customers back" is just speculation. It might also be that currently devs are working very hard to get next expansion and CU ready before target day. Doing character purge and huge CU conversion same time would be also nightmarefor database administrator.

Better wait that CU and expansion is cooling down month or something and open issue then...

Greetings,

How hard can it be to delete a players structures when there supscribtion runs out?????
If people wanna return they got a bank with room for 100 items. It can hold a house, weapons, armor, and pretty much anything that is important to safe, incl. all there money. It is not that hard to put stuff in the bank for later use.

When people want a break or stop intirely, it should not inflict in ANY way on the remaining players.

Regards

I know how you feel. My 2nd account at the time was the mayor of Veritas on Talus which is long gone, but the long term solution is to move the player base into the NPC cities and build communities from there. SWG has to take into account that players might return. They should have a cut off time for accounts that are no longer active. They could at least have everything deed itself.
