Well, ive created a city, its just an oupost with a radius of 150m till the next update.

The city is in the middle of freaking nowhere, and somehow this goober found it, and placed a large tat house right on the outside of the city limit.

So when it upgrades to a rank 2 city, or even 3, which will be happening, is this suckers house gonna be in my city and himself a citizen if hes a declared resident?

is there anything i can do beside raise all the taxes and tax him out?

im pretty pissed, becuase where he has placed his house is right in an important location for future civic buildings.

the city is a private city, only for my guild, is that not squatting? or cheating to get into a city?

should i send a ticket to a CSR if he remains when the city radius explands?

what do you guys think?

thnx for you time

As I have had this problem on a much larger scale I can say that there is nothing you can do. My City was surrounded from Day 1 by 21 Houses in hope that I would go to rank 2 and could be voted out as mayor. This however did not happen because I called in all the calvary and had enough citizens placed that there is no way I can be voted out. Your city or anyone elses city for that matter is not a private city. If it is in Star Wars Galaxies it belongs to anyone that can get in even if that means placing a house outside the border. The Devs or CSRs wont do anything about it because their house was placed before you city ranked up and it was intended to be like this for some strange reason. All you can hope for is that the Devs will implement a system where mayors can move/destroy unwanted houses but this wont happen with how the game is running now since there are way to many people that would grief others over this. You might want to contact the person and ask him if he would move his house for a certain ammount of credits. Or just raise the taxes to the max and repay everyone in your guild.

You might want to try *talking* to the person and explaining your city plans. That person might be willing to relocate his house and work with you to find a suitable location. Who knows....you might even find that you get along and might want that person in your guild.

Not every person out there is a griefer intent on causing mayhem and destruction.

this is true, but the city is pureply for imperial jedi to grind out of, and i suspect it is a rebel paddy who stumbled into the city the other day, becuase after i banned him, he ''HAHAHHAHAHA'' at me.

im wondering, if the city radius expands to include this house, will i get an email telling me whose structure it is?

other wise i have no clue as to who the 'real' owner of the house if

thank you both for your input, and yes, Khristen, thanks for your reply as well, you are more than likely correct

im am all to quick to conclude that someone is intending to doharm, and Ibecome aggressive, as I am a pvper, who normally operates withlittle trust for others than myself, and my guild.

No one really owns any property in SWG. We get virtual property rights by right of first placement but we do not actually own any of the land we place on. We just deny others the ability to place on the same spot. That person may have set his/her house down to spite you, but he isn't a squatter. You don't own the land that your city is on and you certainly don't own the land that's around your city either.

When your city goes to rank 2, you should be able to use the terminal in the city hall to pull up a list of citizens..

Which will only help if this is his declared residence, correct? Basically there is very little you can do other than the aforemetnioned tax burden. If I were in your shoes, I'd continue to build the city around him and reserve that future-space for whatever you intended to go there. It brings to mind a funny RL story...

The area I live in was at one time rather rural - a small midwestern town some 15 miles outside a major metropolis. Expansion got the better of the area and eventually the roads were inadequate to the traffic volume. They changed our little 2-lane road to a mega 8 lane divided freeway. Most of the "eminent domain" residences caved without issue, but one business proved to be rather stubborn and was located in the direct path of the proposed road. Knowing full well that the road commission wasn't going to reroute the plan to circumvent one business, and not wanting to fall behind schedule, the contractor proceeded to build the road right up to the side of the building. Tehy then moved to the other side of the building and started again. It was perhaps the funniest thing I ever saw - a washed-up car stereo business with a freeway sticking out either side of the building. Eventually the owner was forced out and the construction crews knocked down the building and paved over the patch where it once was. The road was finished on-time.

Is there a point to this story? Not really, other than if you are determined in your plan there should be no reason you cannot continue with your development and wait out the troublesome "squatter"... Or you could just camp his house and smack him down when he comes home

If it gets incorporated, you will get an e-mail saying the structure was added to the city so you should be able to find out who it belongs to if you don't see the person before that.

And I *really* don't recommend dropping anything in front of the house if it is incorporated (as has been suggested) since it is considered harassment. That kind of behavior will more than likely get you banned. Besides...if they've done this intentionally why sink to their level?

Other than the bad placement (which having a very detailed plan for my city, I know can be a huge pain), there really isn't anything that person can do to you or your city. If they name the house something obscene or offensive, you report them and a CSR will change the name. Ifthe personoutright harasses you or any of the citizens, you report them and let the CSRs handle it. If they're just generally annoying /addignore is a wonderful thing! hehe

Short of talking/bribing/otherwise coercing the person to move the house, there isn't much you can do about the structure. The person themself, though, you have a few more options.

Im being very careful about my city, I dont plan to register it till we at least have enough ranks up to have a big enough patch of land to plan decently, but there is always the possibility of someone stumbling into it, which we will have to handle when it happens.
