TH, please consider changing the tables that generate "lair loot" so that % chance of finding eggs does not go down with this change. It should be easy to just change the "live animal" samples we loot from lairs and replace a % of them with bait. I run a dairy business, and eggs are hands down the hardest resource in the game to come by. Despite being mind-numbingly boring to "harvest", they can't be obtained with 30K resource crates (a good thing in my opinion), so the only option is hand gathering. I'd have to argue that milk is far easier to get then eggs. I can net 10K milk from one lair, that same lair will give me 50 eggs if I'm lucky. Eggs are so rare that I've never seen a stack bigger then 5K, and I run a dairy business. Please keep this in mind. Obscure resource harvesters and BE's thank you in advance.

But i like having Moths/ Bees/ Flys/ Bats/ etc. on demmand

FYI You CAN get eggs from 30k resource deeds

Organic > Creature Resources > Creature Food > Meat > EGG

.... it's under meat

Thanks, and to the previous poster who informed me of the same thing. I was informed by a customer that you couldn't do this, had never tried myself. So he must have been mistaken.

And lol Tekhap, nice to see you back. Haven't see you since the old Swamp Creek days.

Then, my friend, you must learn the art of 'powerfishing.' A tried and true method of fishing that yields results.

1. find yourself a good fishing spot: high density and low vegetation as stated before

2. Stand in the shallows and face perpendicular (along) the shoreline

3. Cast your line and fish as normal, I usually tug right first, if i get a bite then i have a 33% chance of getting the next move correct, if i don't get a bite on the nibble then i tug up, then left and so on til i get a nibble or lose the bait. Once you get a nibble you have a 33% percent chance of getting the next move correct for a CAUGHT SOMETHING?!?, otherwise tug up, then left (or what ever order you choose, as you now have a 50% chance of getting the CAUGHT SOMETHING?!? result.)

4. Once you get a hit, click the small reel in, and WAIT FOR THE SYSTEM MESSAGE stating that 'you begin to reel in your catch' and then move quickly to your bobber, the reson you want to be in the shallows is to avoid hitting deep water and going into swim mode which stops you fishing.

5. When you get within 2m of the bobber the game will catch the fish for you without having to go through that tedious and iffy battle to bring the fish in.

6. I have caught up to about 15 fish an hour with this method, giving time for breaks and an average catch time of 2-3 minutes or so.

That's the exact method I use...it just takes too long for each fish for too little of a reward. Back when I was a BE/CH, I was going to make a factory run of Pet Stim Ds...need about 24,000 units of fish to make a complete factory run. Spending 2-3 minutes catching each fish, and only get a small amount of resources from each fish, it would take far too long to come up with 24kunits of fish.

I could always use a 30k resource deed, but those generally cost a minimum of 3 million. I don't think there is anyway I could earn that money back selling pet stims.

I don't mind the mini-game, and actually enjoy fishing every once in a while...but when you are doing it to try and collect a large stack of resources, it can be extremely frustrating.

I would actually say that fish is much harder to obtain than eggs. At least with eggs, you don't even have to get off your swoop to search the lair...just drive by and search from lair to lair...boring and tedious, but not that difficult...

With fish, you have to get a fishing pole and bait...find a good spot of water to stand by - high fish density, low vegetation...cast your line out...tug up, tug right, tug up, tug right, reel in, wait 30 seconds and SOMETIMES you catch a fish *snip*\

I run Banir's Bass Pro Shop on Kauri server (Dantooine) and there certainly is a market for bait, i sell mine at about a thousand per unit for (so on chum bait it runs 2k, 3k, or 5k a jar of chum bait) and it sells out very quickly. I take 'fishing days' for my game sessions for this reason.

I also sell the fish themselves (after fileting) as aquarium and home decoration fish for about 1k apiece, so pretty cheaply, they also go very quickly (i had a guy clean out most of my inventory on aquarium fish the other morning for about 27k worth of fish alone, and then bought a landspeeder i had built as his 'bass boat' (though you can't fish from them.) I also sell jawa beer, and a bunch of other related items for the whole environment feel, the second room of the shop i redecorated into an 'Angler's Club' for people to hang out in and roleplay or converse.

So if you want to set up a fishing shop, it is possible, and you could make some money off it, but for me it's a labor of love.

If you're ever on Kauri, come to Dant and go about 1200m east of the Mining Outpost (-908 1505 I think is the coords, i'll check) and visit to get an idea of how I have my setup.
