I agree,
Not muCh to add, this change of foot print ruins years or work, Headaches dealing with the curent game feature's now get it worse. Designers have always limits, we here, all, the guys and ladys here have one virtue his patient .

This game is a good game beause al kind of people can find diferents ways to enjoy it,

This game make people that want be great warriors in dreams doit in virtual reallity

This game Make peaople than want be planners, architects, designers, enggeniers make his dreams here, and more,,,

This game make a challenge to our creativity, to our inventive, a chanlenge to make things good,s (weapons, armors) and all is ,, on the virtual reallity. you must understand It.

Tha ideas of paviments, modify terrain, are not imposible and is in mutual benefict, Devs' you dont have time for make the planets beautifull, or make beautiful cities, then why? killing people that want do it free!

Are subestimating the creativity and the inate design and problem solvig from us making this desitions -Dev's,
The principal problem with this,, is the curent houses placed side by side, al here agree, is one lef=- can't be replaced!
Solutions because is easy react to problems, but not to create solutions: =-

1. leave the foot prints of medium naboos as always has.

2. Character Purge, Old Housing (all of the mayors here have a list of wP's and Names for that!!!! are no excuses to Don't Do it)

3. Make another of these complicated logarithms, Sumatories and relativities that the game have to make the lines of housing have a maximun of numers example: limit of 10 houses side by side.... the first one and the last one creates a olibatory gap to the nex house, (solve the exploiters and the designers can have a element of design to deal) 8 - 10 - 12 you Choose!!

4. Proceses to deal With old houses, or indeseable structures to move them, example. is a city have a big!! house that the owner dont aperas like a year dont respond to emails, and he have millions maby onhis bank the house never blow must exist a way to move it, Simple:!!! like:

one voluntier character with the special hability granted by the mayor or the mayor itself place a identical house of the indeseable one , in a diferent place with a limit or radius less than a 100m

and star a proces to interchange betwen them. items and names, then the proces end the voluntier get the indeseable house and the indeseable owner get the new with the items inside. (Dev must see if can be the items placed in the esact location inside the house, or pakage them in a armories) !!hello the guy left the game more the the guaranted time!!
good:

1. Anybody touch the items of the indeseable house. and get trasnferes esact as was on the original.
2. Preserv the indeseable choise of place, placing the new one near the original spot.
3. The procees must can be done only for houses more than 6 months of unsuscricription or: Inactive status

The mayor can automatly star the query proces oonly sending the house name. and will recieve a notice said: this house stil active by his owner time for get inactive 11:12 Pm Agust/3/2005 example.

Bad:

1. we are atepmting to the privacy or the people and characters of the game?
2. Imposible In game programation to alow this process.
3. Lost of items Inside the house because in Game programation, data server storage issue?

Yet another brilliant example on how PvP ruins for everyone.

And I remember one day (before launch) they said they would NEVER let PvP have an effect on PvE, they want to keep the (2) systems seperate so people who enjoy one or the other dont get bothered with non-sense.

That was one of our biggest fears. And yet it is happening.

This is an uninspiring, uneducated, and very unwise decision to do this. It does NOT fix the current situations that caused this "change", and hurts all the honest players. Very poor design decision. Rather than expaning a base radius footprint/no-build zone.

Keep this thread alive. Why must the Devs continue to harm the honest player base because of the exploiters that caused this. It was ingnorant.

I totally agree with everything that has been said about these changes. I've spent so much time carefully designing our city layout and we use to (prepub19) rely heavily on Medium Naboos. Never once was there a "wall" in my city preventing others from accessing the area at all. I left for a couple months (cancelled 2 of my 3accts - kept the mayor to check inonour city on a weekly basis)post-cu because i was so disgusted at how SOE blatantly ignores the paying customers. And now yet once again they have given the "band-aid" to something that was truely never a huge problem. Between all of the post - cu bugs and now this I really don't know how much more i can take. I can think of no solution around the current status of my city. It houses 146 citizens (alot that left when the cu went live) and now with this change we're looking more and more like the sloppy mess outside of Coronet. To top it all off the day this Pub went live i had 5 houses all finally "blow".

This remains my largest concern in the game.I run a city of currently 115 residents and 225 structures. We use nothing but Naboo housing, and this has crippled our ability to add new people following the city design, or replace the houses that have been taken down from people moving. Furthermore, the problem created by the medium houses affects all housing, not just medium houses. We have areas in the city where rows of small houses line the back of rows of medium houses. The new no-build area of the mediums now makes it impossible to complete placement of small houses in these rows, or replace them. This is a city that a great deal of players have invested a great deal of time and energy in building, are very proud of, and is no on the verge of being completely ruined by this change.

If the wall effect of these houses was the problem that needed to be corrected from the dev's point of view, the invisible alley that has been created along the side of the houses addresses and resolves that issue. There is simply no functional need to increase the footprint of these houses. All this accomplishes is to render moot the countlesshours of work some of SWG's longest payingcustomers have speant on a part of the game that gives them the greatest sense of ownership and personal identification with the game. This takes one of the major unique features SWG provides to create a solid core of longterm subscribers and turns it into a reason to turn their back on the game that has turnedits back on them.

Unfortunately guys I feel as constructive as our feedback is. And as mature as our responses are. We wont get the Dev's attention unless we have HUGE font with bright colors talking leet speak about Jedi/BH

I think all these points we made are as mature and constructive as it gets in this community. The footprints need to be reset back to normal. There was NO walls, since many pointed out and I tried it myself, you can still go through it.

I've made another post about this issue in the correspondent forums using the feedback given here in the Cities and Housing forum as well as in the Politician forum. I'll pass on whatever I can on the issue when I hear more.

Bright colors and big fonts, leet speak, and the word "Jedi" aren't really ways to try to attract *positive* attention. Well-constructed suggestions and arguments in the right places get listened to much more.

Thank you for standing up for the players best interests.

A better solution would be to possibly modify the foundation/artwork to leave a gap,
similar to the square naboo houses, wouldn't it?

I know, I was only being sarcastic

Thanks for your hard work. I really hope they listen and change things back to the perk we had enjoyed for almost 2 years now. They need to punish the people who are wrong, not the entire community.

I'm almost glad that the Mayor of my city is taking a few days off... he will surely be sickened over this. Our Mayor, Cigaran Lanarik - Alacio Island, Naboo (Bria) - has worked tirelessly to advance our city.

We have a number of "retired player" houses in our city center that we are anxiously waiting on to disappear. And now if they finally (ever) do, the city core cannot be "fixed", because those mediums cannot be cleanlyreplaced.

I'm not a politician or city planner - just a player. I fully support the idea of having this change rolled back, and suggest that a real solution to the actual problem (placement of faction bases) be addressed. There's absolutely no reason that a faction base problem needs to turn into an EVERY PLAYER CITY problem.

SUGGESTION - don't allow faction bases to be placed within city limits, or within xx meters of another structure. The logic for this fix has already been coded - it could work like a camp not being placed too close to other items. Come on devs... think about the effect, not just the cause.

That's one of the suggestions I made as alternatives to the current 5x6 footprint.

That is what they should have done. But instead we all are made to suffer
