Thread: Lots vs Items (updated original post)

It is sad the business/merchant skills can give a horrible amount of storage to any player ready to pick up the skills, but we cannot even get the item count for our lots if we get a larger than medium house. I really hope we can get some nice response to this thread since it is obvious this is a problem for each and every player who ever got a large house or wanted to, and the owners of PA halls are in a even worse situation.

We need action, we need our precious 75 items per invested lot. I would rather have one PA hall than 4 small houses, but if the game forces us, what other choice do we have?

You dont even really need to do it quite like that. Just bunp large houses like 50 and guild halls maybe 100 and it would make a REALLY big diffrence. Guild halls especially... My friend and I just bought one yesterday, and we have all these great decorating ideas... but with a 250 cap alot of the hall is gonna be empty. They shouldnt add buildings that big if you cant reasonably decorate ever room in the house and still have enough room for some storage

they should do what they have done with the vendor limit you can have say 3 or 4 houses but you can put everything in one house. so basicaly you have 1 item cap working at 75 items per lol adding up to 750 items that can be shared between all lots or be all put in one structure rendering the rest of you lot usless for anything but harvesters/factorys. this would solve the item per lot problem and also aloww crafters factorys.

Hmm... I like the idea of having 750 items that you can distribute around your houses/factories all in all, sounds like a good idea, and then just keep the lots countto prevent people from putting up too many harvesters, houses and/or factories.

Nice idea...

architects get hit hard with the current system...

a small house at 2 lots and 150 units of storage generally sells for 4-6k

a large house at 6 lots and250 units of storage generally sells for 75-150k

Now, why in gods name would you pay that much more, for such little storage?

Even saying:

small (2): 150

medium (4): 300

large (6): 450

hall (7): 525

if you are interested in storage only (and alot are not interested in decorating), why pay for a large at 75-150k instead of 3 smalls ad 6k each? 18k vs 100k

There has to be some INCENTIVE to using the higher end structures.

maybe if it was something like this:

small (2): 150

medium (4): 350

large (6): 500

hall (7): 700

OR

maybe this:

small (2): 150: no storage vendor/bank box

medium (4): 300: 50 item storage vendor/bank box (all structure admins have access, but it cant do sales)

large (6): 450: 100 item storage vendor/bank box (all structure admins have access, but it cant do sales)

hall (7): 525: 200 item storage vendor/bank box (all structure admins have access, but it cant do sales)

This would make not only the decorators, but the storage people also, want larger better houses.

I saw something about adding crafting bonuses or something...but i know not about that...

I WOULD like to see houses that were more customizable though....interior AND exterior...not just decorating...but for the architect...actual DESIGN of the houses....

I say make it 100 items per lot requirement.

2lot 200 items up to the 9 lot pa hall 900 items. its fair.

Sence you can't have a 1 lot house you know so i started at 2.

Pwnownzor you I will.

As I see it, the incentive to have a large house it to have all your stuff in one place instead of running around to 3 diffrent smallones to find the right thing(s). Right now, that incentive is not working. A large house costs more than three small houses, it costs more maintenance and give less storage for the same amount of lots.

Not good, cant be working as intended...

That's how it was always meant to be (except for the different style of small homes only Naboo gets a smaller type, and the 4 lot cost for a medium home) until they ran into database issues in beta. The 250 item limit is an artificial hard cap to help lower the strains on the database and keep things running smoother.

I hate to break it to you but this wasn't how it was when the game was launched - I know I was there. Our small houses had no such tiny limit. I had hundreds and hundreds of items in my small houses.

Then one day they decided to nerf house storage without telling anyone in advance. The uproar was unbelievable. You also used to be able to put 1000 items in a factory input hopper but that was nerfed at the same time.

Either they should change the current limit on Storage in houses (not counting contence in packs/chests/etc.) or they should introduce Storage boxes at the bank, that you can rent. So for instance you pay 1000 credits/week for a locker (100 items storage), upto 10 lockers or something. With the upcoming loot revamp STORAGE has to be taken into account (loads and loads of more loot coming up).

The loot revamp contains that every NPC will drop loot (multiple), so storage has to be solved as well.

I'd be happy with this:

Small house, style 1(1 lot) = 75 items

Small house, style 2(2 lots) = 150 items

Medium house (3 lots) =225 items

Large house (4 lots) =300 items

PA hall (4 lots)=300 items

The mediums seem really hard to decorate fully at 150 but the larges can be done with 250 if you are a little creative. As you get up there in the number of items, the interior load time can get pretty bad, keeping all structures under 300 is still probably for the best. With the exception of the PA halls, this system would allow enough items to decorate the given structures and keep to 75items per lot number which seems appropriate to me. I think the 400-500 items needed to decorate a PA hall would justy be prohibitively laggy.

Right now, all above a medium house only causes you to have fewer items capability, you are actually punished for wanted to have a larger house and it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to decorate an entire PA hall with only 250 items. Medium houses are function wise identical with small houses, even though they have a much larger footprint in the game. They cannot hold more items than a small house (style 2). This needs to change, it needs to be more logical. One should not lose item storage capability becuase you own a large house or a are a PA leader. Please, take a look at my suggestion above.

I have decorated many houses/pa halls/cantinas/medical centers. I have rarely run into a situation where I have run out of spaces in the building before I run out of places to put things in the building. I sometimes wish that I could fit a few more items into my houses, but sometimes its really the Less is More concept that makes the better decorated larger houses really nice. Having a larger house does give you fewer items per lot but it becomes a test of how well you can decorate the house with the restrictions that they have placed ingame. I think that the limitations are good for us, but I think that the larger houses &guild hallsshould have an additional 50 items to them and cantinas & medcenters should stay at 250 items. just my opinion.

If they raised the item limit of the Guild Halls I would use one of those as my house. Right now I have a large house plus a storehouse to keep all my stuff.
