Thread: ok ive got a squatter
As a politician and civic leader, I think it is your responsibility to try and act as mature and patiently as possible in a situation like this. I do understand your frustration but like in real life, you will have neighbors... some you like and some you don't like. I doubt the tax option will work as if he can afford a large house then he probably has quite a bit of money and trying to tax him out will be like peeing in the wind... ineffective and messy. I think that a problem like this should begin with a dialogue first... maybe you cancome to some kind of understanding. If not, then you can begin to apply some pressure and employ some of the tactics that other folks have suggested. If you lead withaggressionand create animosity right off the bat then you have exhausted what could have been your easiest options to resolve the situation. If you are aspiring to be the community leader then youprobablyneed tolearn alittle morerestraint and self-control. I'm not tryingto putyou down but you asked for people's opinions and this is mine. Good luck.
So he put a house down... it's not THAT big a deal. Just build around him. I can understand if he put it there, then cancelled his sub to the game so the house would be taking up space better used by an active member, but if he's active, why not be the bigger man (or woman) and make a gesture.
You could invite him to join your city, involve him in your group activities. I'd be willing to bet that he's probably not even aware that you're trying to build a city there. Maybe he's just a nub who's looking to put his house down somewhere, saw the spot and didn't think that anybody would (or even had a right to) object.
He said it was another game.

At what point have we ever been able to loot other players?
I have the oppsite problem. My friends and i set up about 1000m SW of bestine about 18 months ago between 4 of us we have about 15 buildings in a small area. a few months later a playercity was placed about 700m sw of my locationand has been slowly expanding towards our set up , my concern is that it will some day expand to the point that my houses areincluded in its radius (im unsure if there is a limit to playercity size). Its not that i dont like having the big city right there but im not intrested in paying taxes & getting city emails. Perhapsthere shoud be zoning of some kind that allows structure in place before a city is set up to remain independantof the city itself withouttakingup city area.
Just outright ban him before your city grows. And place a income tax
that you kickback to guildies and cram up the property tax
that the Guild will help the Guildies pay after all it is just being recycled. Is it fair is it right, Probably not but hay if it can be done in RL
to people then it most definitly can be done in GAME.

this is true, but the city is pureply for imperial jedi to grind out of, and i suspect it is a rebel paddy who stumbled into the city the other day, becuase after i banned him, he ''HAHAHHAHAHA'' at me.
im wondering, if the city radius expands to include this house, will i get an email telling me whose structure it is?
other wise i have no clue as to who the 'real' owner of the house if
thank you both for your input, and yes, Khristen, thanks for your reply as well, you are more than likely correct
im am all to quick to conclude that someone is intending to doharm, and Ibecome aggressive, as I am a pvper, who normally operates withlittle trust for others than myself, and my guild.

If he is banned from your city he can't declare residence in that city, even if it city grows around his house.
I had the same problem, had a former reb see the light (err dark) and go Imperial and join our guild, but he was unable to own (tried to /transfer also) or place a structure inside city until he was un banned. I un banned him and he could place the house. I then banned him again to see what would happen (before he declared citizenship), and while the house remained he could not declare residence because he was banned.
If your pia has not declared residence you should be ok. If he has it may revoke it since he is unable to reside in a city he is banned from.
Good luck hope it helps.

If you're sure he's reb you can just use some nice covert scanners and minefields outside his door and place a nice outpost with large turrets right in front of his house and if he complanes just say you were going to do it anyway and he got in your way. Good luck getting rid of him.
Oooh, evil........
I like. =D
