BUT

Forage eliminated because it isnt useful or used? Bad Bad for any of us who love to decorate! I use the foraged foods as table centerpieces and 'bowls of fruit' but most importantly foraged bait is your only way to start-up fishing from scratch! An I usually have an unlucky night and run out of chum bait too, and need to forage again! I make one or two fishtanks for people every single week, everyone loves them, and everyone should be able to get one in the future if they want one!

What about fishmeat for petstims too, I know thats got to be another concern (on another forum), but Please Please don't let us lose out ability to fish!!!

I'm worried the Devs working on Ranger may not even realize that fishing is vital to a petstim maker, but also a VERY desirable addition to our home decorating efforts!!

Help us please!

Have no fear! Fishing isn't lost!

Instead of using the foraging skill, you will be able to find bait by searching lairs!

As a CL1 character I'm gonna enjoy paying people to run around finding bait for me in lairs.

Ah, finally, a market for fish bait! Now it'll be worth a little more than what I could have sold it for to the junk dealers!

Will you get aggressive, ill-tempered fish from aggro lairs?

Mutated sea bass from mutant rancor lairs?

Hmmm?

This is funny. I've been playing swg since the beginning, but my wife didn't start until a year ago. I worked and struggled to achieve wealth as a merchant. At one time, I sold a little bit of everything, including an inventory of 100 sets of 4 types of armor.

My wife started playing, picked up novice scout. I wrote her a little forage macro, and she built up a nice little nest egg (get it, nest egg?)just by selling bait on the Coronet bazaar. I'dwalk by her computer and see her macro foraging right next to the bazaar terminal. Easiest way of making money I've ever seen. As she was usually the only person in the Galaxy selling bait, she sold it at 1000 credits per quantity of bait, and it sold very fast. If she'd had the ambition, she could have gone Merchant, opened up a chain of bait shops across the Galaxy, and made millions.

Now, bait will be even more valuable, but itwon't be afk-able. She's going to be disappointed when I tell her. Don't worry devs, she doesn't post on the forums, so you won't be getting flamed from her! :>

TH, I know this must have been asked, so maybe this is rhetorical, but why don't they make the forgage skill more worthwhile instead of deleting it? I guarantee that if you could forage enhanced power cells, you would see many players bending over and foraging.

This is one example of not fixing existing stuff, but instead replacing it with new stuff. I understand where we are going with the "Ranger" profession. It never made any sense in SWG to begin with in its current form. Same for scout. However, making existing skills more applicable to the SWG may be a better alternative to introducing new skills that will likely be just as inappropriate for the profession and environment.

Don't take this as a flame but this was addressed in the Ranger forums many days ago.

Anyone who feels changes to ranger may somehow adversely affect their play (even if they aren't ranger) should check out the Ranger Revamp FAQ.
