Do not expect SOE to have any sympathy at all for housing and harvesters lost because of a cancelled account that was part of a lot swap.

Once that lot-swapped account is cancelled, that means you are getting the benefit of the extra lots w/o paying for them (which puts you in the same status as a squatter)

Its not SOE's fault if these buildings go poof once the owner's account is purged. You lot swappers have been skirting the edge for a long time, so this should be no shock at all.

Admin rights do NOT equal ownership, so SOE is fully justfied is ignoring players with admin rights to structures whose owners have cancelled. Ownership is a PRIVLEDGE that is PAID FOR by virtue of a current account subscription, and that is the ONLY transaction that SOE will consider valid when determining ownership of structures.

If I was to do this. I would do it in a phased manner. For vendors without owners or vendors in a house that has no owner...

1) No new items can be added. (An email to all admins of the vendor)

2) After a week, the vendor becomes unregistered and non searchable. (An email to all admins of the vendor)

3) After a week, no items can be bought from the vendor, admins can still retrieve the items. (An email to all admins of the vendor)

4) After a week (about 4 weeks total ) the vendor goes away. (An email to all admins of the vendor giving 24 hour notice)

I totally agree with the above posters. If SOE were to take this approach and give people some time to adjust to the change like this then it would go over a lot better. No matter what they do some are gonna get mad and quit. Big frriggin deal. If your Lot trading then your cheating the system. I have no sympathy whatsoever for those that do this!

I frankly hope they purge everything out all at once and get rid of everything from any account that has cancelled, or has been inactive for 2 months or more.

The only legitimate reason I can see for a Player to be gone from game for an extended period of time is someone in the Military that is deployed. Evewn then though that player can make arrangements to have all his harvs, factories etc. pulled up and placed in inventory or Droids and then have someone with access to their account to login now and then and pay maintenance on their houses or other structures. It just takes a bit of forethought and planning. This is assuming that said player would have their account set-up to be paid for automatically each month or have it paid a year in advance etc. so they are still an active account. It can be done.

Players just need to have consideration for their fellow players and STOP bending/breaking the rules!!!

NUKE the LOT swappers!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I sure hope this purge takes care of condemmed structures and not ones currently being used, even if the owner is MIA.

For example, Platinum Alliance, Ahazi server was the first Player Alliance to have a PA hall (made entirely from hand sampled resources, harvestors and factories did not exist then). That PA Hall became Platinum City's Mall and houses many vendors and has a huge maintenece pool. So there is some Historical value here.

I wont pretend to know who currently owns the lot of the Mall anymore, or even if that account is active. However the Mall is being used by city artisans and helps fund the city maintenance itself.

Would be nice if the purge only dealt with the condemmed structures and mainenance was reverted back to the old system.

all you can hope for lot swappers is that they just make condemed structure auto pack up that way dead houses go anything that is geting used will stay and it gets rid of all the anoying burning harvesters.

Any estimate of when this purge might take place? I'm sure there is a thread somewhere that I am too blind to see.

Seems like the most simple solution to the problem would just be to get rid of the "condemed" concept all together. Not sure what their reasons were for putting this in the game, but that would be a good start at getting rid of some of the clutter.

they put in condemed structures so people would still have their stuff if they came back as for when the purge will happen no1 knows its like the combat upgrade was it will get done when it gets done.

True that they introduced the condemned structures for those players that have gone MIA - but it was a very poor, thought out implementation that should NOT have gone live when it did. Far too many Player Cities as well as the overall landscape of the game have been ruined due to the condemned structures.

If you don't pay the maintenance on your house or structures - you should lose them. Seems pretty simple to me. If you are going to be gone for an extended amount of time, either pull up your house/factory/harvestor or put enough maintenance in it to last until you get back.

If I cancel my account, then decide to come back a year later - I shouldn't expect my house and all my stuff to still be sitting there waiting for me. Condemned structures serve no purpose.

Regardless of what they do, they'll give you advance notice about it. Btw, having a valuable location like a mall is a bad thing to have as a lot trade. What happens if a different person reactivates that account and decides to delete that character?

I really think they need to purge the condemned structures of players with cancelled accounts. There should be no problem with this. The game should be for the people paying...not for the "long gone, but might come back" players. Maybe people would thing twice about cancelling their accounts if there was a chance they would lose their condemned structures.
