Does nobody remember the Great Purge of '04? Ok, dramatic name, but that's what it amounted to. In one of the hotfixes someone snuck code in that did what is being discussed here. I cannot remember all of the details, but I DO remember all of these High and Mighty cities crashing like there was no tomorrow. The best part was that, prior to his mini-purge,the mayors of these former metropolises kept yammering about how their cities were full of active people and whatnot. Like I say, I don't remember all of the details. I know that our city at the time dropped about a third of it's people and just barely held onto it's shuttle. What's funny, though, is that the boards at the time had (again, before thethe purge) been like these ones: full of people complaining about the 'ghost towns.' After this code came in (which, if I recall correctly the devs said had been a mistake and was never intended to go live) the boards did a complete 180. Obviously, the people who are in charge listened to the players who got stung by the little dose of reality. At the time we were told that like it or not, these purges would be implemented "soon," and that we should design our cities accordingly. It's nice to see the devs prove Einstein's theory of "soon" being relative.
