Mine did.

We should be seeing a change with this soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

GHA!

I was wondering what happened.

I did notice that when you enter the house you can see the lights and candles way before anything else. It's like they are always in the world.

Mine burned out yesterday and had completely disappeared when I logged in tonight.

I don't mind so much that they burn out, but how about a "light bulb" or some other such option to recharge them? They didn't just provide light in my houses, they were part of the decor. It gets me pretty worked up thinking of all the time I spent picking the right light and moving/rotating them to get them in just the right spot. When a light burns out in real life, you don't throw out the lamp or take it off the table, you just replace the bulb.

I thought the concensus on this way back when was that we wanted renewable power cells/lightbulbs/candle wicks whatever that would allow the architects to make a steady stream of revenue but would NOT subject homeowners from redecorating every 3 weeks? What happened to that idea?

Good question.

Because now I'm looking at placing all the little candles in all the places I had them, and it killed the atmosphere in some of my places.

My sympathy goes out to everyone who some incredible chandaliers. It just isn't right. So much time...

Yea, I'm furious - both my elaborate chandeliers went POOF - gone, deleted. Many hours of work went into these and I KNEW Pub 18 would have them 'burn out' and supported the 'replace' option.

I was not expecting them to disappear - this really sucks.

In fact, I had used burnt out candles (I burned out on purpose and picked up to replace) as 'unlit' decorations - now those are gone too.

This fix was not even realistic. I can't imagine George Lucas thinking up lightbulbs and candles that disappear either. Evn Star Wars Physics doesn't make things dissapear when it wears out. I guess it would be nice if old candles and lightbulbs dissapeared after they burn out in RL - but it's just not realistic.

In this case it was more than an inconvenience, it was an utter slap in the face to all the people who worked hard to make in game content. I am still steaming over how this whole publish was handled - NOTHING works right in it excpet the Trophy mobs they added. What should we expect though with less than a week of testing, ignorance of the TC input and any bugs reported as well as ignoring the player base, correspondants, testers and all other forms of communication we have.

At the beginning of the year things were getting better - now things seem worse than before the flurry of longstanding bug fixes we got back then.

Worse, worse, worse! What is going on?

Well, won't be doing any light source ever again except torches, and I have an architect. Just way too much work just to replace them.

Obi-Wan and Yoda both disappeared when they wore out. Hey, I got it! They were Jedi Candles and Lights. Luminous beings were they. Not crude matter.

eh, sorry, I just have to find humor in some aspect of this game now or go crazy.

Perhaps there can be some kind of replacement 'wick' for the candles so you can relight ones that are still existing? I know that lots of people really loved their decorations, but these are going to be a thing of the past now because no one wants to completely redo a design every 15-30 days. It's just not gonna happen.

I think I saw someone post that they had. Mine were still there, but they were all burned out, so I picked them up and destroyed them. They will be replaced with torches unless something changes.

Indeed what the brainiacs at SOE fail to realize is people will never be interested or willing to redecorate their houses every 3 weeks so instead its back to the ugly smokestacks wich will just deteriorate the overall look of the game and not bring a cent more to the crafters.

Im furious my cities cantina, our guilds PA hall, my house all darkness now.

Thanx devs for really demonstrating your bug fixing abilities, dozens of broken professions & quests but no you did the most important thing of all ofcourse, making everyones elaborate houses look like crud. thanx !!!

As a master architect i applaud the fact that they have finally made the candles and lamps die at the end of their lifespan but agree totally with the annoyance all are feeling at the demise of, from what i have seen, some glorious lighting displays.

My main concern is that every time i log on and look in my factory which is full of crates of candles for sale is that the crate number is cycling down on each log...before the publish i had 80 crates with 10 razorcoils in each cate, immediately after publish i had 80 crrates with 9 razorcoils in each crate, next day i had 80 crates with 8 razorcoils in each crate.

At first i thought this was a bug, but after reading the posts on this page i now realise for once SOE had some foresight

Realising the backlash of people now stating they would no longer be using lamps in their houses due to them expiring, SOE has kindly found a way for my now redundant stock of lamps to be removed from my overburdoned storage space without any requirement for action by me. Thanks SOE!!!

TH - Can you not develop some sort of kit that allows us to recharge candles and lights? This would also give architects a little bit of a stable income as they will be selling a consumable product.

To tell you the truth, and as a note to you architects, I have WAY too many lights in my houses to be constantly replacing them every few days. The placing of items in the exact position takes too long and to do it with 100's of lights is just not feasable, especially for my chandelier which has 12 candels in it. I don't like the idea of having to sit there and jimmy the lights around just to get them in the positions I had them before. If this is not a bug and actually how they are supposed to run, I will NOT be buying replacements. Sorry architects. Let the Architects make light rechargers or wax refillers so I don't have to pick up and replace the fixtures. This is not the way to go to give Architects a renewable sale.

What kind of future is this if we have to replace an ENTIRE light fixture when the power is depleted?! Why can't they be recharged with batteries, for God's sake!?! Or even plugged into the house power supply?!?!
