There are several posts about it in the Politician forum, mainly a report from Fan Fest.

This would be simple to code? Sounds hard actually. You'd have thousands of separate database objects with different values according to what inside the object and what location in the database each item was located.

I looked in the politician forum, found a couple of posts that hinted it, but I want to Dev written proof, does anyone have any links please?

I suggested a system similar to what we are talking about, back in May (post is - http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=citieshousing&message.id=6011)

This idea just puts all the players items in a vault, doesnt need to remember each items location.

Great idea, only problem is see is, What if there was a bug and when you put the house down all the stuff you have spent 2 years attaning disapered? That would be a sticky situation.

Fan fest reports that came back listed a plan to have a dormant players house redeed itself, and store in the players bank. Not sure if the quoted plans to add in a command to do the same thing with a 24 hour timer was also from the chat, or simply player dream based.

This one command, could help save player cities across the galaxies, if only the mayors were given the ability to issue the command as well.

Will either of these happen, yes. Shortly after the smugler revamp. Thats due 2 years ago, so any time now

/checks watch.

I hear you. It could be real easy to lose items in the house when placing it again.

One problem would have to be when people place things like force crystals inside their house....

it is an untradable item, and it would then have to make the deed untradable. While I know you

can't /transferstructure with one in your house, the deed may be a bit harder to restrict.

Other than that hiccup (which will likely cause this to get delayed for eons) I love the idea, I am

so sick and tired of having to make 20 runs to move everything in my guild hall, only to have to

sort through the mess and re-decorate once I get it to the new spot. I just recently started a new

city for our guild, we now have 2 (one full-size with shuttle, and a new outpost) Lemme tell you

how much moving like800 items between the bank, 3 houses, and a guild hall SUCKS

I end up selling a lot of stuff just to make the trips easier, so now I am re-consolidated back down

to only having the guild hall again, but now when I place my house I will have to re-purchase a lot

of cool furniture and re-design it.

I agree completely with your arguements. This idea had its potentials but was not thought out well enough before implimented. I actually have a condemned house that I want removed but I can't get into it since its an inactive character's house, one of my old alts. Especially if the character goes inactive the house should be removed.

The way you, SOE, have dealt with your customers is absolutely abysmal. The lies, the deception, the interviews where some producer will publicly deride players who have real, valid reasons for dissatisfaction. It is the producers and marketing managers, etc. and so on, that are the problem and YOU are the reason the game has failed.

To get around the "infinite storage exploit" would be easy - if the house has 1 or more items in it, you get the deed, but you don't get the lot space back. Put a marker on the deed so that ittakes zero lots to re-deploy.

You make this particular deed no-drop, no-trade. An architect selling a fully-furnished house would have to physically place the structure and THEN transfer ownership to the customer. Kinda like in RL - you don't go to the "house store" and buy a house - you contract an architect and a building crew to design and build it for you, and then theytransfer ownership to you when they're done.

Really it "shouldn't" be that hard to code - gawd only knows how twisted their code is though. All the items and their locations are already stored in the database. Packing the house up and re-deploying it somewhere else should be very do-able.

What a terrible idea. How about I pack a guild hall with 400 items. Then redeed it with all the items inside. Open another guild put another 400 items inside, redeed. Rinse and repeat. Talk about endless storage ability.
