Literally a field of heavy harvesters all burning and on fire...forever doomed to smoking and ugliness right next to a large thriving city. Obviously a lot trade where the person quit playing. Those ugly harvesters just sit there taking up good land right next to a city that could use it. No one else will be putting down harvesters here either. All the best, flat land is forever taken up until SOE decides enough is enough and takes control of the game and gets rid of all the harvesters and houses on canceled accounts.

Why are they giving more importance to the players NO longer paying for the game than to those of us who pay steadily each month?????? Because they are hoping that if there is still something to come back to, these long gone players will return, pleasantly surprised to find out they still have it all while they have put a major damper on our game play. It boils down to money.

Sony, please just burn up the houses and harvesters for those of us who continue to play and pay.

We have the same problem on Shadowfire.

I wandered through one last night and counted 100 harvesters all burning away just outside of Mos Eisley.

I asked one CSR about it and was told there is nothing they can do until the structures disapear on their own. So I asked how long that takes and he couldn't tell me. Rather sad really.

I dont understand, if a player quits, they quit! Game over! They quit the game everything they own should go poof! SOE thinks their coming back, fat chance! They probably went to WoW or Guild Wars and arent coming back! So the people paying $20 for the game and $15 a month get to see ghost towns and burning harvestors on valuable land! Give it up SOE if they left anf dont have an account anymore, chances are they are not coming back!

The devshope beyond hope that they will come back....so their stuff stays in the game.

There should be timers on things not being used....then either poof, or roll it into the ex-player's inventory out of site of those of us who do play.

I totally agree that these things should all be removed a month or so after a player cancels, but the idea that no one ever comes back is incorrect and SWG knows it. Accounts get reactivated all the time, especially anytime they introduce something new, like the CU or ROTW. I personally know quite a few folks who have left and then returned months later, including myself. Does this mean that I should have all my old stuff waiting for me 6 months later? ...No... But SWG is trying to make it as enticing as possible for folks to return. Its just another marketing strategy.

It all comes down to personal accountability. If you have harvesters up and you are cancelling your account you remove those harvesters so you have them should you start your account again. Nobody is forcing folks to leave the blight because they can't be bothered to have courtesy and if SOE rewards such selfish behavior there is no reason anyone would bother doing so.

When they changed how structures decay, they really weren't thinking long-term. Coming back to the game after an extended period of time and finding your houses and most of your items gone is not really something you can't overcome. Before I left Corbantis, there was a period of several months where I had to stop playing for financial reasons. I did not get a chance to remove the items from my houses, or pay maintnenance on them to stay up for awhile. When i did come back, I salvaged what I could, and started from scratch. Having two accounts, I handed over items and money to one, deleted the empty one, and created a new character. Rinse, repeat. While I missed not having some of my items, it wasn't game-breaking. I say revert back to the original system, or as soon as you've gone one full subscription cycle (30 days) of system messages for lack of maintenance, that structure is removed from the game.

Well any bets that the testing of the house roll up feature will lead to a change? As soon as they can get this working and into game, it wont be a problem for them to be able to remove an ex players structures and simply roll it up into their datapad, both problems solved, player gets to keep his items and other players no longer have to deal with the eye sore.

I noticed this same thing on Sunrunner, between the cities of New Haven & Virtutis Civitas on Naboo. A whole field of burning Medium Mineral Harvesters. South of Corellia is another hot spot. (Pun intended.)

On Ahazi.Naboo, there are fields of 80-100+ harvestors all along the northern part of the map that are quite literally burning as you all are saying.

Something to clarify (at least my experience) regarding LOT TRADES.

When the maintenance runs out and there are no more credits in the characters account to cover the maintenance on the structure, THEN the harvestor is condemned - but once condemned, the ONLY way to "un-condemn" the structure is for the owner to put money into the unit directly. Bank-tipping a player who is inactive/cancelled doesn't work because they need to log on to receive the bank tip (someone correct me if I'm wrong, this has been my experience). You'll waste good credits if you try and bank-tip inactive/cancelled players because you never receive that bank-tip notification.

SOE PLEASE PURGE UNPAID/INACTIVE ACCOUNTS AFTER 90 DAYS

Why should the rest of the galaxy suffer for people who "might" come back? If they stopped paying their account for 90 days they should have to start over. Or, at least change the way the rules work for HARVESTORS but keep the house rules the same.

I believe this is what they are leading to with the packing of the houses... that way the people who quit will just have there packed house put back into there inventory... should work like that with the harvesters too IMO...
