When they changed how structures decay, they really weren't thinking long-term. Coming back to the game after an extended period of time and finding your houses and most of your items gone is not really something you can't overcome. Before I left Corbantis, there was a period of several months where I had to stop playing for financial reasons. I did not get a chance to remove the items from my houses, or pay maintnenance on them to stay up for awhile. When i did come back, I salvaged what I could, and started from scratch. Having two accounts, I handed over items and money to one, deleted the empty one, and created a new character. Rinse, repeat. While I missed not having some of my items, it wasn't game-breaking. I say revert back to the original system, or as soon as you've gone one full subscription cycle (30 days) of system messages for lack of maintenance, that structure is removed from the game.

Literally a field of heavy harvesters all burning and on fire...forever doomed to smoking and ugliness right next to a large thriving city. Obviously a lot trade where the person quit playing. Those ugly harvesters just sit there taking up good land right next to a city that could use it. No one else will be putting down harvesters here either. All the best, flat land is forever taken up until SOE decides enough is enough and takes control of the game and gets rid of all the harvesters and houses on canceled accounts.

Why are they giving more importance to the players NO longer paying for the game than to those of us who pay steadily each month?????? Because they are hoping that if there is still something to come back to, these long gone players will return, pleasantly surprised to find out they still have it all while they have put a major damper on our game play. It boils down to money.

Sony, please just burn up the houses and harvesters for those of us who continue to play and pay.

they do go away, and its creepy when they do poof. On bria there was a massive sprawl of harvs on tat, all ablaze for months. Ala the Iraq oil fileds. Then one night while chasing a fleeing pvp target, we all noticed the flaming field was gone. Think it took one of our guilieds about 5 minutes to start camping the spot with harvs of his own though...

one of the worst changes SOE made was in the maintenance on harvesters. Before, they would poof much faster. Now they'll run until the player's toon runs out of credits.

If a structure is condemned the maintenance costsshould go up 10% every week...or go up exponentially.

I hate seeing a load of buildings and harvesters around, all condemned and in prime spots just placed to hog up real estate.

Ive tried recently to put down a hall in a nice spot near Corellia...finally found a spot 1.6km away...so ill not be placing a musuem until some of the inactive structures are eliminated.

Well, recently, the mayor of our city talked to a CSR about the hundreds of burning harvesters which were located near our city. Our mayor told the CSR about the lag the burning harvesters were creating so the CSR got rid of most of the harvesters for up.

Just have a bunch of people file a ticket about the lag the harvesters create.

well..my city is on rori on bloodfin and we have pretty much a ghost town next to us. no one has seen anyone in town for months now, but before they went away..they placed harvestors all over rori..and more importantly throughout our town and every flat space around it. rori is hard enough to build on, but now we have at least 30+ harvestors everywhere!! we know for a fact the mayor and guild leaders have left the game for good...we only wish they would've taken them down first. they're not on fire, which means they all have a ton of money in the bank and we'll be waiting forever for them to go away.....

the least they could do is if when a city expands they allow the harvestors in that town to be taken down..give a warning to the owner to move them and if after a fair amount of time they don't (probably because they no longer play), they are destroyed.

we're a thriving..but stunted city because of them..we're active and playing, paying customers..a little help would be nice!!!

FORGET THE WARNINGS. They quit playing and if they have quit playing for four or more months, I say poof the houses, harvesters and factories. Those of us who are paying to play and active should have more rights than people who chose to move on.

THe field of burning harvesters should be a reminder to everyone what the end result of lot swaps are, especially when you use them to fluff your citizen count in a city.

All it takes is for you to go on vaction and forget to pay the maintenance..and boom..condemed, and since you dont own the account that owns the lot the structure is on, your SOL and the thing is left to rot.

Personally I think the issue of condemed houses would not be half as bad as it is right now if Mayors had abstained from taking the easy way out by resorting to lot swaps to pad their citizen count. Now you pay the price because of people on other servers cancelling their accounts and leaving abandoned buildings on your server.

you can pay maint on condemed stucture even if you aint the owner but are admin on it. atleast for harvesters.

i wish they would fix the poofing bug that did they placed the condemed strucutre in game, so they could take it away, and let structure go poof again as they used to
