I agree. I have deep ravines and hills in my city preventing the placement of any structures. Odd but severalappeared after city was started. Sidewalks, roads, anything like that would definitely add to the landscape and beauty. Heck, make it part of a profession to build those things if they must.

5 ***** for you
If I had a penny for every time somebody's asked for this I'd have 57p!
and would be forming the idea that maybe I should have asked for a thousand pounds every time somebody asked for it...

Lol, this is stuff they promised to put in right at the launch of player cities..........
never heared of it again. Were some questions asked later on, but the reply was vague. So I wouldn't count on it to be live within a year or so....
Don't get me wrong, I really think this should be in, it would make player cities, more like cities and less like a bunch of houses, but I really don't see this coming soon.

I want a moat.
If this happens I'm starting a lawn mowing company.

Paving, the ability to sculpt the land the way we want oh and of course a major city feature that is in most NPC cities, some sorta walling or fencing around them, these are a few of my favourite things I would like to see added at some point, doubt this will happen for a while as the emphasis seems to be mainly on combat and GCW stuff.
I don't agree that the surrounding area should be flattened, we should just be given the opportunity to sculpt the land... maybe using some tool which utilizes the above camera like when you place a building/harvester down. The reason why I'd prefer this is because sometimes hills add to the layout.
Not every NPC city is totally flat, in fact there's only one on Corellia that is, that being Coronet. All of the others are fairly hilly, granted Tyrena is fairly flat, but it has a river running through the middle of it.
Oh yes, bridges as well, that'd be a nice thing to have, if we have situations like that where a river is running through the middle of the city...

Definitely agree, player cities are very monotonous at times, and can consist of rows and rows of small, medium and large generic houses, and only made interesting when at the hands of a talented mayor. We truly need to give our polititians something more to do, give them more power to do the job they do. Just if they start claiming we need to invade the neighboring city cause its got terrorists or rebels... maybe we've crossed the line..

In addition to this concept wouldn't it be interested if they could stasrt creating underground, below city limits areas, like sewers below the streets, full of dark and shady places to explore? I could imagine the criminal element in the game would thrive with this environment.

I thought about this idea ever since cities have come out. Always wished the Devs would implement it, but they havent done anything with cities ever since they made it possible to create player cities....

Great Ideas and 5 stars to the thread opener. We need to be able to pave our cities and flatten the terrain according to our needs.

I don't know how hard it would be to do, but I'd at least like to see the terrain of the ground in the city changed to something more city like.
for example, I was messing around with the texture files and did this...

Yes! - this is what player cities should look like. Not just some rag-tag collection of buildings surrounding a skyscraper in the middle of the wilderness.
Hmm...clickys didn't tranfer...sorry. Please see the original post.

in previous posts/chats et cetera the devs indicated they are not going to add streets of any kind.
