The thing I hate about player cities is the lack of landscaping ...the mayor or assigned architect should be able to lower and rase the land sorta like Populous to make truly beatutiful cities or outpost .....allow sidewalks , Fortifying walls Streets ...imagine the possibilities!

Have you seen StarWars? Where is there a street with sidewalks?
Where was there a city built straight onto the mud and grass with no paving? ![]()
nah only joking - not trying to flame ![]()
I think it'd be good if we could get some form of roads or paving, like you see in the NPC cities.. it would really add to the look and feel of the cities.. especially on corellia!

Indeed, the mayor should be allowed to at least clear an area of the player city of debris and ponds (see the swampy lowlands of Rori for a good example of bad landscaping) so that the townspeople may institute a better designed cityscape. Also there should be city walls available to be set up around cities.

I don't know how hard it would be to do, but I'd at least like to see the terrain of the ground in the city changed to something more city like.
for example, I was messing around with the texture files and did this...
Player City Paved 1
Player City Paved 2

Player City Paved 2

maybe after a city on Naboo has become a metropilis, something like the Theed Arch could be added over city entrances, and equivilants to the other planets
like a more stony arch for Tatooinecities, and an industrial arch for Correlia

... or a force field like around high-tech camps to prevent hostile creatures and NPCs from entering cities.

Actually, I think land should be flattened automatically for the appropriate radius of the city when you place a city hall ... this is already implemented for camps, should be easy to apply to city halls. Another thing city hall placement can do automaticaly is cover the entire radius of the city with Coronet-like "pavement". And when you place a house that pavement is removed from under the house just like grass and trees are removed now.

Completely agree. Theres two little hills smack dabin the middle of my city that I cant put anything on. lol annoys the crap outa me. And we have a few gardens that look like they're being eaten by the ground. lol maybe I should plop some camps down.

Yes, just switched the texture files.
The problem I see would be how to dynamically alter the texture based on what is on top of it. I'm trying to remember, but I don't think any current dynamic spawn does that.
I'd have to look a bit closer at the files that assign the textures to the terrain to see how hard it would be.
