Think Ice, peril, and freezy blizzards... Hoth

And devs have a way to introduce it, while staying true to the SW galaxy!

First: Make Hoth, and include Echo Base, but make it still under construction. Few rebels there, working to get the base up and running. For the Imps, take a Star Destroyer and let it orbit one of Hoth's moons, you are not allowed to wander around the entire SD, but just the bridge and the docks (from where you can launch your ship or travel to Hoth).

Second: bestiarity. Off course tauntauns (tamable) and other icy creatures will be present, but not all is known from hoth, so you could create some animals

Third: Publish it in EXIII, or one big publish I dont mind

Please, give me your suggestions.

(Do not play 1star bandit, just tell me if you dont like it

Sorry but hoth has been discuss many times before and it won't happen. All the planet would be is PVP and the devs just build PVE so it does not look like it will be happening anytime soon. Sorry mate I wanted hoth too but...

Technically it should be time for ESB anyway, so I think they would make it after the assault on Echo base, so there would be alot of Reb and Imp NPCs wandering with the occasional tauntaun and wampa.

If Rebels are able to land and walk on Endor, then Imperials should be able to travel on Hoth as well.

I think Imps should be able to walk on Hoth, but won't be able to get near the Echo base, something like a blizzard that will block their way (kinda like the force village).

I never said they wont be able to, Im just saying that rebels can land at Echo Base, but Imperials would have to go to the SD to shuttle to the planet and maybe jabba can have a smuggling outpost there for the neutrals

Im talking about Hoth BEFORE ESB, right after aNH... Some of the rebels went to Hoth to start the echo base, and during this building fase the planet could be introducted...

The rebels did NOT go right to hoth as soon as the battle of yavin was over. There was the whole blockade on Yavin IV and then they were searching for a place to have a base for a while before they found hoth. If you want Hoth, no Echo base.

I think that if the empire knew about the rebel Hoth base while it was under construction, they would have zapped it ASAP before the shield was operable. That was the whole point of the battle in ESB. The rebs try to find places for bases where the imps aren't looking. The imps try to find thereb bases ASAP then bring force in the adequate to overwhelming range to knockthem out. So a Hoth base under construction would have to be a rebel secret, such that even rebel players would not have free travel to and from it. This is not very compatible with an interesting GCW PvP or PvE opportunity. Now, an interesting space PvE opportunity could be a rebel mission or quest to prevent (i.e., delay)the Hoth base from being discovered or reported by imp scouts...

Quite an obsession with Hoth on the forums, it seems to be one of the most beloved parts of the movies. Personally, the version of Hoth portrayed in Battlefront more than met my needs; all pvp, fully functional vehicles, and so forth. I doubt Galaxies could do better, while supporting the kind of detail our characters require.

That said, has anyone considered instanced Hoth-style battles, say dependant on how the GCW is going. Say, if one side holds all three planets, there's a grand battle at the end to win the 'campaign', in a teeny tiny instanced planet that could be snow, swamp, grassy, and so forth, with the 'losing' side defending their base. It'd provide Hoth, and much more.

But, that's more for the GCW forums...
