Y'know... one problem with ALL buildings in SWG, both player & static city buildings alike, is that they all look the same, within the parameters of the planetary style.
What would add a little character to both player & static cities would be the ability to "grunge up" building to LOOK like apoorly maintained seedy section of town.
As a Master Musician, I've seen lots of really beautifully decorated cantinas. I'd like mine to be the "dive" on the outskirts of town where all the lowlifes hang out.
Peeling paint, cheap furniture.... maybe even add schems to the Architect profession to make "broken chairs" and "flickering light fixtures"... that kind of thing. The headless 3PO in the current loot pass is a step in that direction. Maybe Architect-crafted texture kits for houses, similar to what's there for starships. Some for reallt clean, fancy homes, some for minor wear & tear & 1 or 2 for REALLY trashed buildings.
Maybe even add the ability for a cantina owner to adjust the lighting in the place in certain areas... make REALLY dark corners where the true scum of the universe could gather to do their dirty deals....

You could allways check out Tyrena, or Douba. Their Cantinas are allways dark & you'll be the only customer who isn't glued to the floor
I'd love to see that, and you will most likley get your broken chairs and whatnot. Lighting would be toooooo cool but it would of course have to work for every building / profession. You know why, not that I'd care if you could asjust your light levels nor would be very interested in complaining if you got it and I didn't etc......

I'm likin' this idea.
It would be great to give players and player cities a chance to put together...well...a Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy.
Add to that lighting option the option to put a smoky haze in the air of a cantina. And maybe the opportunity to slap a coat o' paint on the house, even if from a limited palette.
Good thinkin'.

Mos eisley needs to be "darkened" up a little bit, that town is too bright and cheery for my liking.

HAving smoking and nonsmoking would be great lol. And maybe broken glasses and mysterious stains all over the wall. But seriously, good ideas. It would be cool lookin to have a ghetto.

Hmm... sounds pretty cool. Having a "darker" part of the town would indeed be interesting. It would be neat if there was a higher chance of getting attacked by NPCs there as well, or even mugged (they steal like 12 credits from you).
