Hey you know what would be awesome? If you could go into the huge skysrapers on correlia and talus. They would be like giant office buildings, where they could have developers sitting behind a desk, ready to answer questions. The top of a skyscraper would make a great place for a wedding. Also, architects could build skyscrapers, which could be like guild halls.

Making them useful would be awesome. So that it wouldn't just be lag anymore, it would be lag with a purpose.

LOL. Obviously server loads would have to be adjusted in NPC cities to make this idea work.

I would like to see them turned into apartments where players can rent. The way i think it could work is, the player goes to the front desk and buys a room, you get a key in your data pad which allows you to use a terminal which teleports you into your room. To keep your room you must pay rent aka talk to the front desk and paying some credits. To check how much time before your rent is up you can check the terminal inside your room or talk to the front desk. The room will allow items to be placed insided but remeber if your forget to pay rent when all your money that you already paid drys up , all the items in the room gets deleted along with the key allowing it to be used by another player.
To have other players come in you just group with them and bring them as close as they can to the terminal and then the person owning the room just have to use the terminal(just like the shuttle to the corvent or launching with a group into space). But its only a dream/idea

The problem besides server load and lag is that populating the NPC cities defeats the purpose of having player cities. There does need to be some point in having those buildings though. Heck the faction controlling the city should at least have a headquarters. Maybe one of those tall buildings to populate with Imperial/rebel administrators and many many guards.
Perhaps a NPC city's vendors should be consolidated into a market building structure instead of being in the open air.

I just got an image of "urban warfare" quests/dungeons in cities to make the cities destinations for adventure.
Think of a instanced quests where youare sent to infiltratea building compound inCoronet orTyrenato steal/destroy/kidnap/rescue something.... root out a Rebel sleeper cell in Bela Vistal... plunder documents from a highly guarded Imperial military contractor's headquarters in Keren... conduct a raid on a Hutt spice den... stop an assassin from killing a Drall dissident leader in Dearic...
... sorry.. I must me out of my mind. /shakes head

exactly what are the PC cities used for as they are now? sure, some roleplay in them, that is good, and then there are the vendors... and storage... get this into the NPC cities as well, and let the architects be able to expand them or something, so they have something to do as well. and maybe make a load screen when you enter the city. this is star wars after all... star wars is supposed to be high tech, not run around in the woods... make more missions that take place inside the cities. and we should be more inside! other than in cantinas and medcenters. make some missions take place inside buildings. in the movies, and the EU too, there are lots of fighting indoors. so let us do it too. oh well. bigger cities, that we can live in, and to reduce lag, make a loadscreen when we enter.

I think that would be awesome. I always felt that the houses in the cities that you can enter should be useable too. Maybe set up a "newbie" apartment system for people who are on a trial account so they have one of those little multi-level houses (like the ones on TATOOINE). Set it up so they have a 1-room apartment untill they get a permanent account.
Also, it would be nice if we had NEW HOME DESIGNS with the RAGE OF THE WOOKIES expansion. The new ship ideas are cool but a few new house designs would help out us arch a bit.
How about having a house with a window?

LOL but this will never happen if it did there would be to much lag and+without those huge buildings on correlia it wouldnt look as cool it would just be boring so they add those "decorations" to make it look neat
