FYI, we have been told that this one will never happen. There are probably a few others that fall into that category as well.

Hey,

Just some possible ideas for the upcoming city revamp that I have heard about:


1. Allow cities that are strongholds to wagewar against eachother

2. Allow cities that are strongholds to costomly place fences around their city and even place partols who would automatically attack banned players or citizens of a city inwhich has been declared war on and could possibly have a costomized uniform for alittle extra per week.

3. Allow permission adjustment to militia.

4. Allow apartment buildings! This would save space for cities that messed up by placing thier city hall on an island or near a beach limiting their overall space.

5. Allow special open lots in which mayors could costom design gardens using furniture

6. Allow mayors of stronghold cities to create their own faction, it could even work similar to the 2 existing factions (imp & reb) in that they could have recruiters and would be able to purchase special factional items for faction (which could be granted by a special mission terminal or the mayor himself being able to grant someone 1k of faction every 3 days to keep it fair.)

7. Allow mayors who have been in office for atleast 5 months to have a corelian corvett to act as a capitol ship which would even carry 1 other small fighter(Either their own or they could give permission to a pilt around them). The fighter could park in a special room accesable using bottom side doors (as seen in episode 3) and could actually be viewed by other players in the ship. The owner of the vehicle could come up to the ship and use a radial menu to select "launch" or something and automatically they'd appear in the ship and have the doors open under them as they begin to fly out upon clicking the button on the menu. This ship should also only be flyable by mayors who have gotten master pilot or (factional) ace.....oh and to add to this extremely long idea, it could also count as a lot but would also be decorated by the mayor even if they already have a ship decorated.

8. Allow houses with yards... these could be costomly decorated to include pavement (similar to rugs in the way you place them), fences, ornate objects, and model vehicles. (So you can park your AV-21, X-34, or what ever you drive infront of your house.)

Nice ideas, I especially like the ones about the apartments, faction, war,npc patrol squads, and the corellian corvett.... hmm come to think of it, they're all pretty good to me. Except I would also like to see special permissions on the player housing as well. One that could be limited to set special bounderies for those on admin and the ability to lock doors to guest/banned.

uhm a other idea place items on the roofs of houses

And i really like the thing about the stronghold thing...

your own faction
your own garden
and all the other stuff

I like the ideas... and have mentioned these before:



1) porch lights. Maybe 4 different styles, and they appear at the building stoop if that buildling is placed ina city. They mayor controls what style of light source appears there from his terminal in city hall. Additionally this feature would not cost more money. This would free up street lights to be placed in more remote or necessary places.


2) pavement. We all know that when a building is placed its foot print already alters the landscape by surpressing the vegitation around it. It seems a small matter to code it to where this effect would produce pavement if dont in a city.


3) We all understand the concept of merchants placing signs on buildings... and having maybe a certin number of options. Using the same principal, why not allow for roof top gardens for large houses and guild halls, of various types, to be toggled between several varity like the house sign? The princaple is the same, and it would find a use for those empty guild hall roof tops: that you cant even see over the ledge!


4) get rid of the idea of generic building,,, and allow all building floor plans to be placed on all planets.. only the exterior facade default to the planet norms. For Dantooine, this would mean designing a Dantooine specific facade, or allowing the owner to choose the facade. This would also mean allowing for interiors to be customized. Maybe a interior customizing kit that can be placed in the building, and have the owner select what best suits him.


5) evening ou the horrible gullys that appear in certin areas..


6) increasing the decoration limit


7) apartment buildings: It would be nice if we could at least have locks on interior rooms, and we can assigne an administrator to said room, and they could declare residence there. Each room could have a certin item limit number as normal


8) city theme music when you enter a city, the themes could be any number of different choices already available, and chosen by the mayor from the terminal.


9) allow for many of the items on the Event Planner to be available permanitly ina city. The Pavalion for one... the Naboo Gazabo.... omg these are the city custimizations we need! Alos.. How annoying is it that we can not have the jute box a perminate player crafted item? I mean.. come on.. those things are absolutly awsome!

I just hope they use most of these ideas for the "Player City Revamp" and that they don't screw it up.

I'd like to see some type of demolition option to where if a account is deactivated the mayor can set a time min a month or two if the account isnt reactivated it is removed from the city since the Dev's arent getting rid of houses of accounts that have been cancelled. I can understand if maybe you cant pay for your account for a month or maybe two but thats where communication between the citizen and the mayor would fall into place.

while we are at it , why dont we get some more space to make more cities, The game has been on for a long time now, and expantion for new players, who would like a city, is just not possible anymore.

And more diffend houses would also be nice. like tree houses, and caves and such. for me it looks a bit odd that a naboo house stands in the middle of a forrest...

Also a little thing that i have been wondering about, if its possible to make a city with streetlamps, and signs, and so on. why cant we make roads, that gives the city a better look.

Also the Idea of a stronghold sounds pretty good. make towers in the entrance of the city, where pll's can stand guard, and fire from at enemies that may wants to destroy it. Fences to make it more impossible to enter a city, or even city walls.


and i thing ive been wondering about for a loooong time... gh's lange houses and such. when entering the roof, its impossible to place an object. like a plant or a chair, or things like that. it could be made that a smaal space in the open areas of the house could be used to place objects.

How about giving player cities the option of building roads! So they can actually look like a well, organized city.....not a village.
