Ok, I posted this idea once before but I figured I would post it again and in more detail and maybe it would get some attention. Everyone says that cities look to bland and that there is a lack of variety in cities. Well I propose that every profession be able to place a profession based house. The system that could be used would be similiar to placing a Cantina or Hospital where you have to have a certain master to place the building. This would give cities alot more variety and would make people more unique in the city.

Here is the list I have come up with off the top of my head. You may add as you see fit. I believe there is 36 pros you can master so that would add 36 new types of houses (That would be 100 different styles if you count Gen/Tat/Naboo style on the structures)! Can you imagine what cities would look like with so much variety!

Brawler - No Special House

Pikeman/Fencer/TKA/Swordman - All would be able to place a Dojo style house. While the inside would be the same floorplan for all pros the outside would have a slight variation to show which style dojo it is. (Could just give it a pillar and on top is crossed swords, spears, or whatever to signify difference.)'

Marksman - No Special House

Pistoleer/Carbine/Rifleman - A 'gun club' style house. With a target range in the inside. Floorplans same exterior shows difference.

Artisan - No Special House

Armorsmith/Weaponsmith/Droid Engineer/Ship Wright - All of these professions have a metal working theme so I think a foundry style house would work well here. Something with a big furnance like Empire Strikes back and C3PO is getting taken apart. Once again floorplan same variation will be shown in some style on exterior.

Chef - Already has cantina, but I think a bakery would be cool here.

Merchant/Tailor - **See Entertainers Section**

Entertainers - No Special House

Image Designer - Give them the ability to place and ID tent. I think that Tailors and merchants would also fit well in having this style of tent. As it seems like more their style.

Musician/Dancer - Has the Theatre and Cantina I think they are good.

Hybrid Professions *These are special and should be really distinct*

Bio-Engineer - Having some trouble with this one, maybe like a laboratory.

Bounty Hunter - Much like the SL building but have a prisoner area and make it more bleak.

Squad Leader - Tactical Center style building, lots of computers and gadets.

Smuggler - Regular style house but it has a secret area (IE another door that can have an Admin list on who can enter)

Combat Medic - I am having hard time thinking of something for this they have hospital but I think hybrids deserve a little better.

Commando - Markman 'Gun Club' style combine with the Dojo style house.

Last is Doc - They have medical center that is good.

Oh and Master Mayor should be able to place a Mayoral Masion or it should come with the city and whoever is in office has access to it.

**Non Profession house I would like to see is Ranch. Making it like the Darklighter ranch something big that would take up all 10 of your lots. I think that would be cool to own.

Please feel free to add on your own ideas and try to keep post up if you like it and maybe it will get seen by right people.

Quite a few of you noticed I missed Master Arch!haha Yea my bad so here is update, heshould get a really cool house with pillars and all to show there style in buildings and because they will be making them all they should get something cool haha.

I also saw I missed ranger once again sry m8s, it was suggested that a ranger get a cabin type house, very cool idea and I would fall in line with that, something with a roaring fireplace andnatural colored wall.

Thx (OH and if you are on Bria VISIT MY CANTINA, its awesome!)

Cool idea though it would destroy the visual integrity of my city, which has a tat-style only rule. It looks quite nice as it is, but if we got a hundred more styles everyone would move out in favor of building a new style. Just a thought...I'm actually for your idea, because change needs to happen eventually. Just revealing a downside.

I actually put that each house would all three styles (Gen/Tat/Nab) but I dont know if that would be reasonable do to the massive number of Draft Schemes that would put in a Archs datapad. They could drop it and then it would default to that planets exterior maybe.

Yea, the massive number of houses may be a problem but something needs done.

OH that reminds me Master Arch should get a really cool house with pillars and all to show there style in buildings and because they will be making them all they should get something cool haha.

Wow! I like your inventiveness. You ahve some really neat ideas. I'm not sure how this would effect the game and all. Could add lag, cause problems with coding etc. But I must say it sure sounds like a lot of fun.

Would love to see the indoor shooting range for marksman profs and would love a rance and or a BH house with prison in it. "Hmmm." (Scratches chin) "Maybe that will be my next design."

Kinda reminds me of Shadowbane with the different trainer towers for Warlocks, Barbs. Wizards and stuff. This would be cool to implement in this type of game. Elite Melee profesisons can drop training buildings where there would be a NPC trainer in there as well. Elite Ranged professions can drop training buildings and so on. Also they should add a guard system for faction aligned cities. Like in Shadowbane you can have NPC guards patrol your city and you can layout there patrol patterns. Put that in this game. I would love to see that. =)

Five stars for you!

Ok.. My thoughts to add to the idea

Artisan: They make our transportation on the ground. (other than the pets) so they should get ahouse too My idea for this would be a small house size with a flashy exterior (perhaps a red brick texture) with a nice modest sign that has a wrench on it

Bio-Engineer: They make our beloved pets and our life-saving stims. They should get a medium sized house that has an emphasis on nature - perhaps a nice cottage with an open-air pet yard upstairs, and have it covered in vines (would looks prime)

Bralwer: This is the building block for the more specialized melee professions: Perhaps give them a brawler's ring (like the fight rings in Fable) that takes up the space of a medium garden. Wouldn't really be a "building" but would be an awesome thing to have. (Would have to make sure the city does not get charged for this and make it only 1 lot)

Marksman: This is the building block for more specialized ranged professions. Perhaps like the brawler pit, only longer and thinner and have a target at the end. Not sure if it would be possible, but would be nice to see the target useable - giving stats on your hit% and weapon's damage

Merchants: These guys are the experts in salesmanship in this game (even if not RP'd properly ) So I propose a marketplace. An outdoor spot of land for them to place their vendors in the open - make them be able to decorate it. Also give it a canopy feel, open sides with a cover (maybe use a graphic already in the game, the Master RangerTents perhaps?

Bounty Hunters: two words... A bunker Have it be one story tall, but with a basement with a prison area and a spot to display weapons.

Lastly make it so that you can only have one of these building types at a time so that people can't just master a profession to place one then drop it for another and have both. Make them no bigger than a medium, this way the crafters won't lose their ability to have harvestors

Thank you for the support and for the great ideas. Please keep this bumped to make sure SOE knows that we want more housing variety. Also please continue with the wonderful ideas (I can't believe I totally forgot to put something about scount/ranger!, seen someone added, that was great)

I never played shadowbane I think he called it but that sounds pretty good to. Is that an online game? If it is then we know that something like this could be implemented. I am not programer so I don't know how hard it would be to do.

Frankly I'm a bit disappointed that you thought of all these wonderful building for Architects to construct, but didn't include any ideas for architects themselves

Ideally, I think a Master Architect should be able to own any type of structure - but I know that's not realistic. Perhaps the ranch/manor house concept would fit them best?

The cabin idea proposed for Rangers is a great idea...it would be neat to have it only be one lot like the small naboo but have it possible to build on Yavin/Dath/Endor as is fitting with their "in the wild" demeanor.

Creature Handlers need some love in this mix too...a kennel-style structure or zoo of some sort would be fun.
