Hallo,

I'm new of the Politician profession and i was looking for some info in this forum.

Reading old posts i found some discussions about the City Militia that destroyed me. Before a strange patch, the Militia was able to really defend the city!?!?!?!!?

And now? Only usefull to grant zoning rights?!?!?!?

Can someone tell me why did it happened?

I think that the old "version" of the Milita was great. Why dey destroyed it?

Bye bye

The city militia is a group of people that assist the mayor in certain things. First off, the militia can grant zoning rights if it is enabled, and the mayor is either logged off, or elsewhere in the game, and not able to grant at that time. The militia can also Cityban anyone just as the mayor can. The militia is mostly just an aide to the mayor, to help him/her out when they are unavailable to make it to the city.

Word of warning, only put your most trusted companions on as militia. Take it from me, the wrong person can screw you over being on the militia

well, the old version was great until people started griefing others with it, and eventually the devs took it away. you can blame it on the people who placed a city near a POI then /citywarned everyone that came in, that city who /citywarned a CSR, etc...

I know at one point the Militia had the ability to do /citywarn. This ability alloweda militia member to target a player entering the city and if they saw fit to use the command and that player would get a message. Then the player had 2 options. 1) to leave the city OR 2) to stay and gain a TEF to be open to attack by any militia in the city at the time. I know that the TEF would ware off after a while ... not completely sure how long it took though. This command was before my time as a mayor but I read about it in the forums in the politician board.

In my opinion, militia members have the ability to abuse the /cityban just as much as the /citywarn. But, apparently they dont or that command would get abused more often and removed. I do know that the /cityban can only be applied to those that are not considered citizens and I would assume the same would work for the /citywarn but Im not 100% sure on that.

Hope this helped.

Nothing now, it was taken out of the game. It used to allow the militia to attack a person who was /citywarned

it's been like this since *anyone* has been in militia. don't ask me why they think militia needs the checks and balances, but it's suppose to work like this.

It prevents a single militia member from doing as he pleases without anyone knowing. True a mayor shuould only appoint those they can trust, but only the mayor shoudl have the power to drop in the city with no approval. Otehrsie...their wouldnt be much diff between a mayor and a militia member.
