militia powers are a joke.

/cityban also needs to finally be fixed to prevent people from using their tickets to get into cities they've been banned from.

/citywarn should be brought back, and there is no real valid reason for getting rid of it in the first place.

discuss.

Totally agree. Either do this or just gte rid of Militia altogether as they don't have a function in game anymore other than a bonus for defending a Base that is inside city limits but there aren't many of those either.

There was a valid reason. People with cities near POIs were abusing it to attack anyone who wandered through.

well they should'vemade it so people can't build a city near a POI. don't take away a useful andimmersive game system because a few people were being jerks.

I completely agree, but unfortunately it didn't work out. I don't think they can just *move* everyone that builds near a POI away, and I doubt they want to make everyone move (resulting in a lot of pissed off people). it sucks, but that's the way it is.

I thought it got removed because people were abusing it in general, not just people who had cities near a PoI.

Some people abuse the city ban function still, just banning people for the fun of it. Granted it is then a case of the player who has been banned talking to the Mayor of the city (unless of course it is the mayor who did it, in which case nothing much you can do really) and asking to be unbanned.

I think they basically did it as it means less work for the CSRs, as they are no longer having to handle disputes over the use of /citywarn, either from poor people that have been griefed by some immature person abusing it to start fights with people, or from immature players that have come into a city to cause a ruckus, got beaten and then tried making out they were griefed...

If there was less immature people playing the game then I would entirely back the reintroduction of /citywarn as it is a good RP tool...

yes, that was also part of it, however denying other players of POI access was the main thing they cited I think.

They should still reinstate it, but put restrictions on it. Hard Coded Restrictions. Like if the distance from the city is <= X from POI then you can't City Ban/Warn.

There that solves their POI problem.

Additionally there should be a check in place that states if warned player <= CL60 then they can not be attacked.

I would actually like to see the Militia Tef over ride the BH tef. That way if a BH does attack a Jedi that is in the town militia other members of the militia would be able to aid them. Players should safe in their own town no matter what their profession is.

I agree that /citywarn should be brought back, do to the fact that as militia we should have means to protect those that are in our cities. It also gives us a means to protect our towns.

I just want it so people banned from the city can't fly into the city's shuttleport. What's the use of banning people if they can go about business as usual? It should be changed from the ticket terminal not selling tickets to banned cities to tickets with the banned city as the departure or destination not working for the banned player. That way friends or alts can't just buy the tickets for them.

"Basically, once you see the inner workings of the Dev team you realize their game model is really just grind and stall. Make the players grind and grind so they keep paying and when there are problems stall stall stall so they keep paying waiting for fixes. Really...all the cores that quit recently are the ones that have figured this out."

Even if a city is near a POI, cityban and citywarn should still be in effect.

There is NEVER a need to go into a player city. We were all able to access POIs before shuttleports, before vehicles, and before mounts. We walked everywhere. If a city doesn't want ANY one in their city, they should have the right to ban anyone they want regardless of where the city is located - the same is true for city warn.

Currently, city ban doesn't even DO anything because there's a bug/exploit that has existed FOREVER where players can simply shuttle into cities they are banned from by clicking the ticket in their inventory window. So, there's no protection from your city from banned players. They can shuttle in and bother citizens of a particular city and no one can do anything about it.

Citywarn is needed now more than ever with the volume of BH'ers out there right now (me included). A jedi should feel safe in his own city. Any citizen should feel safe in his own city. As it stands now, a scout can come to a town and let their friends know what jedis are in town - if a base is hot - where base locations are - if there are citizens in town to defend the city from the attack - etc...and they can do it freely because there's nothing that anyone can do about it, except ban them, which is broken anyways.

Speeders are cheap...it takes about a minute to go 1km...if the ONLY real reason citywarn was removed was to stop people from being attacked in unfriendly cities - that is a bad bad bad reason.

fix /cityban and bring back /citywarn!

It wasn't as much a issue with POI's as much as it was with people calling a CSR for help, then a group ganking the CSR for the fun of it.
