Hereis my bi-weekly thread.

My sales have declined to 75% of what I was selling, although my stock of foods has increased. Most of my prices are comparable to the others on the server. Could location play a factor? I am on Tat, near Bestine and AH.

I do think the rush of new foods is over, but I never used foods at all until I became a chef and they really do help.

I can't say I've noticed a decline. I have seen more of a shift though away from regular foods. That just might be because I now am making BE versions of those foods though.

I make BE and non-BE foods and actually, I never have sold much brandy or blue milk.

Well, on Kettemoor/Naboo there are over 70 chef & spice vendors listed on the world map. I'd imagine Corellia has at least as many. With so many peoiple joining the chef ranks since the big patch, I'd say market saturation is going to happen. There are only so many people playing, after all.

I only sell food on a small scale, mostly to people who have been tailor customers for a long time. That works for me because I don't have to go crazy running 20 factories and such. But, for someone looking to be a full-time chef and support themselves that way, competing with 70 or 80 other chefs on the same planet has got to be tough.

I will go weeks with little to no sales and then suddenly have 1 day with great sales. Anyway, location could have a lot to do with sales. I am in Talus and barely anyone comes out there. I even advertise but there are always like 10 other chefs advertising as well. I've visted their shops and not only am I way cheaper, but I offer a larger variety. I guess folks don't care.

Anyway, it has come down to why being a chef. Sure you could roleplay for weddings and such and offer people different foods, but you can't push anything on people. I give out free samples to folks and provide them information about the new foods but they never come out for any. It's not fun being a chef to no one. So with that I have been heavily weighing just quitting. I played a chef since release and then took time off before and I think I'm going to do it again. I am bored. The hard thing about quitting though is if I want to come back. Starting from scratch is not fun. I'll have to decide whether to sell all my resources or keep them. But to keep them I would have to find room and that will be the hardest unless I pay maintainence on my houses for 100 days or so and then check back.

There are very few chefs on Wanderhome. It is a ripe market.

I am 400M out from Anchor Head.

The number of Chefs is increasing by leaps and bounds on my server. The number of plus 12 exp chefs is also increasing alot.

Food EXP tapes went from 250k a point .. to 2 Mil a point in last month.

My sales are still increasing...

I keep almost every single chef food makable stocked on my vendors 24/7. I do everything possible to make sure I dont run out.

I DO advertise on my server boards once every other week.

My sales has been steady since I mastered chef. My shop is located south of Coronet, so i say location definitely matters.

I only have 10 exp points, it's impossible for me to buy a chef experimentation tapes...they're way too expensive.

I only seem to sell well when I announce on the trade forums, or in other words, when I'm stocked with Bivoli...lol. Location can't be that big offactor, at least on Scylla. I'm outside Keren Naboo and I getokay business (I was outside Coronet for a while, and sold less there).

Mailing Lists I suppose can also keep your customers coming back (they sometimes forget that they even shopped at your store.

One thing all you n00b chefs don't understand is that selling a crate of brandy will last a person weeks, if not many months, or even a year for the casual gamer, so selling thme at 75K per crate is as smart as shoving a screwdriver up your rear. 200K minimum for crappy stuff, and up to 500K for the verified best brandy on your server is how it should be...

I am on the flurry server, and have noticed steady if not increasing sales. I will agree with the fact that a crate of brandy holds a gammer for a period of time. But found the following to reallymaffect sales. Diversify: make snow cake for range, thak for TKA, Bivoli for chefs. Make the speciality foods. Offer custom orders. Location, not near the cities of travel, but rather near the planets of fight xp. I am on Dantoonie where hunting is rampant. Offer cut prices; my examples are having a vendor that runs "sales" of different items at different times, and by offering rebates of like 10% when someone buys 5 or more items at a run, noted thru your email. Currently, I am 10 exp points, and have sales of 2-300k a weekday and 500k or better on weekends.

If you are having trouble with sales, the best advice I can give you is, get a shop near a populated area, or in someones mall, register with planetary map and offer on the bazaar. Send emails to those who buy from you on the bazaar with a wp to your shop. Talus is going to be hard becuase it is so out of the way. But corellia, naboo and tatooine are good spots for prime business even if there is a lot of competition.
