Also, don't sell your food in crate of 25 all the time. Sell them in crate of 1, 5, 10 and 20. Most people probably can't or don't want to buy 100k+ of food/drink.
My shop is located south of coronet, I'm getting steady sales, your shop should be located near the population whether on home planet or adventure planet.
I only have 10 exp points, trying very hard to save credits so that I can buy extra exp tape without raising my food/drink price.

Last weekend I made about 3.2 million. All that I sell is under 150K (-Vasarian Brandy). This is the second time I have made that much since the revamp. I guess it goes in cycles. One weekendI sold 2 things. Vagarian Canape was a huge seller I sold about 13 crates at 150K and 6 crates of Bivoli Tempari at 150K. That is 2.85 million right there.

One thing all you n00b chefs don't understand is that selling a crate of brandy will last a person weeks, if not many months, or even a year for the casual gamer, so selling thme at 75K per crate is as smart as shoving a screwdriver up your rear. 200K minimum for crappy stuff, and up to 500K for the verified best brandy on your server is how it should be...
Err, dumb dumb. If you read any post by any of us you would realize we don't only sell Brandy, but go ahead and keep up with that "rigid" thinking.
If I knew how, I would post you some screenshots of my vendor stock. I sell just about everything and in different ways. singles, 5 stacks, 10 stacks and full crates and I also have reasonable prices.

I work on kauri, and sell my cask brandy for 45k a crate, my bio cask brandy for 85k. I price my wares of cost to me, I dont inflate for demand. ((floral units*3)+(animal units*10))*2. For a factory run (total cost)*1.5 . Low prices are in the best intrest of the chef as well as the consumer. If you want to see how it applys, try not eating any of your own food. You will soon find that if you get a food cheep, you will eat it more often. If it cost you an arm and a leg, you will eat it slowly. My customers have told me they just constantly stay on my brandy beause the cost is so low.
I am not even a master yet and I make more money than I need. If your buisness is failing, dont look for external problems. Look internally. Cut prices, offer more. Make coming to your shop fun and helpful. The customer generally picks one shop they like and makes it there only food source, make sure that shop is yours.

I became a chef mostly cause my guild's resident chef has taken a leave of absence, but I did plan on eventually selling retail to make a little scratch on the side. When I ran my old smuggler store, I realized that it's all ina dvertising. you have to make sure you stick in your customer's mind so that they come back for more and they also tell their friends about you too. Email lists are a good diea, that's been said. However. having a good gig always helps too. Raffling off your warez at weekly parties, having humorous ads, things like that. I'm going with the theme as Starsider's Sensual chef and my character has a huge afro
Just make yourself stand out, but most of all, enjoy what you do. I'm relatively new to the chef profession myself admittedly, but I do know that those who join the profession looking for quick gain will eventually be frustrated and they'll quit, relieving the market a bit.
However if you enjoy what you do (for me it's mostly for good roleplay and helping out my guild) you'll stick it out, and you'll see sales pick back up. As for Vasarian brandy, I have to agree with some of the other chefs, I use the stuff personally and I'd tag myself as a very active hunter but it still takes me weeks to go through a crate of 25. So yeah it's a very good idea to offer varying stacks.
