Thought I'd get the ball rolling

Too much going on to note all figures, but using ingredients all over 600 in PE/FL/DR, I made my first few items :

Vasarian Brandy, using a cask :
Filing 47, quantity 18, +170 MFW 33mins30sec (though the buff timer says 36mins).
Could take 2 of these, experimented about 6 points into filling, all good successes.

Ormachek :
4% bonus, 1 use, 17 grants (3 fails on this experimentation tho)

Vercupti :
2 points in quantity, 2 in eff 6 in Filling
2 use, 41 fillinf Pet HAM +395 7m55sec

First impressions ?

Additives are essential to a chef, IMO they are no longer an optional item.

Am I pleased about the above results ? No.

The Vasarian isnt "bad", but it is a nerf over our previous buff levels. I tried to get it so I could get 3 uses at a time with no additives, but failed miserably.

I need to hunt for some better berries and fruit, but we've had some bad ones for a while, which hampered my attempts at stocking up pre-patch.

Please add your findings below, rather than 30 different ones

Forgot to add, after 12mins I could take another brandy taking me up to a full stomache, and 510 MFW

Pre-patch food doesn't show up in the buff window, so I thought the buff window was broke at first.

I made some 230 strength vasarian brandy and was able to drink two. I'll be playing with BE additives a little later.

My first thought is that BARRELS still dont work.

So much for "putting this out early since we fixed all the bugs." Yea Right.

Im pleased with the new flexibility of the system, but I see us becoming reliant on BE's, which worries me a lot.
Unfortunately I cant afford to take BE on either account, so Im hoping a PA member gets BE soon

Oh, I tried eating the new Vercupti and got the message :

that food isnt edible by your species

So It appears you do feed em to the pet ?

If so, do pets have a stomache, or does it go on ours ?

Off to test!

...and can you feed it to your pet if it's not hungry?

...and if it DOES get hungry (i.e. takes damage), but you just fed it... can you feed it more?

OK tested

Pet foods go on the pets stomache - you get a message saying special foods can only be given to pets once an hour, or after storing and calling again.

You drag & drop the food onto the animal, and you get the message :
A Lesser Dewback (baby) Yummy

Disappointing, as a 350ish HAM buff on a pet is useless for a master food

Thanks for the info! I'm dying to get home and try everything myself

Did you use resources with high DR and OQ to make Vasarian Brandy? The filling is based on them, isn't it?

I am not happy with it at all, I loved making Angerian Fishak Surprise and was looking forward to them extending the buff duration on it but now I do not even see it in my data pad. And what is up with having to have Master artisan to make the extra comp. items and a different kind of factory?!

Well I guess the good thing is it will be easier to drop chef now and start something new(I was really starting to like being one too).

DR/OQ were above 600, all other stats over 500 - I know they arent the best ingredients, but Im still disappointed :/

I still think we should get stat buffs of at least 1000 as a Master Chef, as we are the only pure buff class in the game. A Master Doctor can do so much more, yet can buff for 2500+ for 3-4 hours on all 6 stats.

The fact that our buffs are portable, I can live with a drop from that level, but anything under 1000 is unacceptable to me.

And we have NEVER had a dev response as to why we cant have that, and I find that disgusting.

Yep, busy testing here, with occasional crashes and rollbacks.

I don't think I can make this profession fun anymore. This is strange, as I was able to make it fun while the food and spice buffs were broken and actually hit your HAM.

This was probably another of those ideas that look great on paper, and when you test them with an entirely uncritical audience.

ok played with bivoli to guinea pig components..

findings..crap resources vs good resources in components didnt matter in the slightest neither with the carbo or the protato.

Made me wonder some...

So I played some with the ingredients on the bivolis themselves...

I used the same meat in both (not very good 131,651,801,363) and same set of components..varying only the veggies.

The first one was made with 242,858,963,984 veggies and produced a +10.299 for 20m12sec 29filling stack of 2. 5pts in nutrition and 7 in flavor.

The second one was made with 476,317,169,354 veggies and produced a +9.3 for 17m 27 filling stack of 2.

5pts nutrition, 5 flavor (maxed) and 2 filling.

The third one was made with 937,915,886,983 veggies and produced a +10.0 for 20m12sec 28 filling stack of 2. 5pts in nutrition and 7 in flavor.

I said it at first glance and Ill say it again. This patch makes it much easier for people to compete with less knowledge and investment in good ingredients. Maybe theres something here that Im not getting, but with the comparison on resources from the best to the worst crap I could find there is not really a huge difference in what similar experimentation produced. It looks to me more like food has been "dumbified" as opposed to "smartified".

Also of note, The old bug where you crit fail and its followed by amazing successes repeatedly that dont do anything...has followed us through the revamp.
