Don't factories give diminished xp? And don't you only get that xp when you're within a certain distance from said factory? Just curious.

-edit- Would be master chef that is. Apparently the devs don't really care about fixing the fact that our products are pretty well broken.

So I guess that should read..

factories give full xp, but their produce gives no uxp. You have to be logged on, and within 2km to get the xp. I generally find something to do while they're running. Often I run missions, hang out in the cantina dancing(I know I should be at the bar, but I really cant stand sitting there watching everyone else dancing ) sit around in our PA hall or do harvester runs(I try to keep most of my harvesters within 2km of my factory for this very reason)

Ah. I never really understood the purpose of factories before, having always been much too poor to purchase one. Thanks for the info.

Just curious -- what's the maintenance fee like on a factory?

Someone told me maintenance is 1500 a day.

And I don't do any combat missions which pay out overa thousand, because I am to weak to fight, and am not one of those hybrid jedi/sniper/guerilla warfare/dancer/chef, I am pure chef all the way.

So factories ONLY apply to those who can afford them, not to everyone.

Maybe it would be better if we broke the list down into two categories and then see what we can come up with for ideal fixes:

Bugs:

med and large Flora Harvesters

Milk and eggs

Factory fix

Balance:

Buff duration

Foods from novice artisan being better than what we can craft/No Food crafting XP from Artisan foods

I agree Validon, I also think we should mention what we like since we don't want them to nerf something we like in the process of fixing something we dont.

J2xC i dont' see factories being useful at all to a novice chef. That lot and money should be invested into a harvester.

You shouldn't be experimenting anyway unless you go up the cooking tree.. it's a waste of time.

I bought a factory recently, and only use it for stuff in mix 4 that requires identical alcohols.

Can somebody explain to me exactly what is the problems with factories?

Let me see....

Non balance issue: Harvesters need to be fixed! We have gone on way to long with personal harvesters that are nothing compaired to a person digging. Please get the schematic for the medium and large Flora Harvesters into the game so we can start to make a living as well.

Balance issue: Spices need to do more than just make you puke. Just like real life drugs they need to cause side effects that are a little more lasting. Just wander around any crowded city and people are puking all over the place. Also get Spices OUT of the Food section of the bazaar. Spice is not a food! It is a chemical and it gives our stuff a bad name because new players think all food makes you puke.
