Thread: My Prioirty List.
1. THE CHEF TREE NEEDS TO BE REBALANCED.
Like i have said in other posts, the Chef tree is not balanced at all. Saitek laid it all out straight for us. Yes, in an RP sense, a fine wine or exotic drink in the higher tiers look tasty, and teh description is fantastic, but the main feature of chefs is the BUFFS. In game players cannot TASTE the foods and drinks we make. They "TASTE" our foods through the stats they buff, not thruogh the description viewed.
Antakarian Fire dancer calls for 20 ore, 20 crystaline gems, and 2 identical alcohol. This requires a factory, thus lots of time andmoney. This Mixology III drink only adds 20 to action, andonly for 80 seconds. A BOFA TREAT FROM NOVICE ARTISAN MAKES ACTION +35 for 95 seconds. How does this seem reasonable at all? That's down right ludicrous. And most of the food and drinks in these higher levels are JUST LIKE THIS. Who would want to pay 800 credits for something they can get for like 30.
This should be the NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.
2. MISSING RESOURCES
Milk and eggs, obviously, but also missing metals and compoenets to bulid Flora Farms. Not much else to be said here, i think we all agree on this.
THINGS I DON'T THINK NEED TO BE FIXED.
Factories are not to be changed. A factory should only put out one use items, as they shouldnt' be used for grinding exp. I've expressed my views on this before. Factories should be primariy used to create components with guaranteed results based on a schematic.
UXP is NOT broken. You get UXP when a reciving player finishes off the last use of a stack. It's usually around 50% of the experience gained when created. Obviously if you make a chef food that give DA experience, you'll get UXP for DA and not food crafting.
No disrespect to SirVimes, but it doesn't seem like he has the experience that other chefs on this board do to be an effective correspondant. He has good intentions, and suggestions, not to mention good communication and dedication with other chefs, but many others like Saitek understand certain priorities, and have much experience as being a chef, exploring more skill boxes in it than most.
Thanks for listening.
I agree that the profession as serious balancing issues, but I think its hard to just make the #1 choice "Balancing Issue" it's too vague, it needs to be broken down so they can start making changes.
Another thing. The stomache bars in the charcter window seem to be broken. I usually digest fully in 5-10 mintues, but my bar doesn'tseem to move for hours. This could hurt our sales significantly (and the speed at which we can accrue UXP) if a customer thinks he's full based on the visual bars.
This could just be a problem only i'm experience though.
I also think that Saitek would make a better chef correspondent. I actually considered withdrawing. However, this correspondent thing is only going to last a month before they choose somebody new. The way I figure it, if Saitek goes second she will have a better idea of what the developers expect as a correspondent and what the community expects, and can do that much better of a job.
As for not having an idea about priorities...we are all going to have different priorities. Some people agree with me that milk and eggs should be the #1 priority. Even more people disagree with me, so I am going to change it. This is suppose to represent a collective statement, so I am looking for as much input as possible. I don't think even Saitek would be able to get it right without a lot of imput from the board.
As for your factories...you say factories are fine, but a lot of other people say they aren't. What should I do?
I don't mean that you're bad chef correspondant, as you are donig a fantastic job coordinating and collaborating. Just that as you climb the chef tree, you realise things that might be changed frist that you didn't realise before.
As for factories, right now it doesnt' affect everyone. They are expensive, so most chefs dont' own one. Not to mention they aren't really needed until identical components are needed. Thus it doesn't benefit allt he chefs immediately.
Thanks.
Your #1 should be:Factories do not produce foods correctly, they should be multiple uses items like designed.
Your #2. MISSING RESOURCES <--- you are 100% correct!
Your #3 should be: THE CHEF TREE NEEDS TO BE REBALANCED.
Factoriesneed to be worked on as soon as possible, IMHO.

I have noticed this also. And I agree that this should be on the list!

What's your reasoning that factories should be number one? Personally i would rather have foods with better buffs, and better balance as one scales the tree before factories.
Factories are not to be changed. A factory should only put out one use items, as they shouldnt' be used for grinding exp. I've expressed my views on this before. Factories should be primariy used to create components with guaranteed results based on a schematic.
What does having multiple use items from a factory have to do with grinding XP? I just don't see the connection.
There are already some people that want to buy crates of Tatooine Sunburns and Bofa Treats for some pet owners. They save inventory space and time neededto restock. But I refuse to sellcrates because they come withup to 1/10the uses at the same resource cost. I just don't want to be forced into hand making every single item that I will ever sell.
Are you that lazy that you can't manufacture your starshines, then hand build the sunburns?
just line up 5 crafting tools in your hotkeybar, and it takes like 10 minutes to make 40
