Are we the only crafting profession that is getting shafted by the first major expansion of the game.

I'm not in beta, but I know it has been said that Thunderheart said food would be no use in space.

Shipbuilders, Weaponsmiths, Armorsmiths, Droid Engineers and Master Artisans all still get new stuff why not us?

There will be a large drop in food sales for a while as less people will be playing the ground game. The long term effects of this we will have to wait and see. Does it suck ?

Totally

well, i had afriend tell me they feel sorry for me when JTL comes out. i said no, it'll be great, i'll get to cook less and play around up in space some myself. but she thinks that a lot of new players will come in, and they'll need to play the ground game some to work up credits, etc, so her guess is that food sales will go up even with most old-timers up in space. should be interesting to see.

I dont know the dynamics of JTLS yet but it would be easy to add a new food and drink to benefit pilots.

After all a well feed and rested pilot should function better then one which is not.

What space food ideas do you all have? Remember, JTL has no skill mods (there's nothing like"+Ion Cannon accuracy") and player HAM is pointless when all the combat is ship-to-ship.

While I can neither confirm nor deny that chefs are/aren't getting new stuff with JTL launch because 1) I'm not allowed and 2) I didn't look (getting into space and blowing stuff up was too tempting), brainstorming ideas is always fun to do. There's always the possibility of space food getting added in a publish after JTL launches.

You want my opinion? This is just an idea so don't jump down my throat....hehehe

Dancers heal Mind, Medics heal Health and Action. Why not have it so some sort of food can heal the action bar's wounds? What do you all think?

Taking foods should in no way effect anything on your ship IMO... But in saying that, why can we not have foods that increase reflexes or aiming, these are pilot attributes.

I havent played in Beta so I have no idea what its like, but their are way foods can be used too calm a pilot too help him be more efficient at flying.

Something like a SW version of tryptophan (the stuff in turkey that makes you sleepy) so you are more calmed while flying and maybe you could aim your little crosshairs a little more easily. I think I heard once that snipers take this when they are out in the field, but then again maybe I just saw it in metal gear solid. Either way. This would make a good food for the land game too. Or maybe make it a spice. But I'm no smuggler so make it a food.

I'm working on some ideas sciguy. However not being in beta it is a bit difficult. I'll try to post some ideas a bit later today.

Yes but we need something for our people.

I've thought of a few ideas...but keep in mind I'm not in beta and have very limited knowledge of JtL...basically what is posted by either LucasArts or SOE.

We could have a few foods.

1. A drink or beverage that increases the speed of a vehicle for a time. This concoction when used on the vehicle would increase its speed.

2. Perhaps some sort of food that would enable you to go to hyperspace before you normally could ( basically it enables you to see gravity shifts and gravity effects enabling you to more precisely pick a jumping point. )

Like I said without seeing it is hard to say for sure what we can do. But I feel that as a crafting profession we shouldn't be left out of the first major expansion....
