Thread: Chefs Revolt against BE and Tailor

I just get tired of having to pay 47k for a crate of Light 67k for Med and 87k for heavy enhancements from BE's and needing trim from a Tailor for Barrels.I quit using any of that and sell my stuff cheaply now, not as good for sure but selling well....Don't get ripped of by that. We should not have to rely on rip offs to make our food and then we have to sell a crate of Brandy for 120k to make a profit...F-That. We need to be stand alone careers and not have to depend on the ripoffs out there, Something should be done about making this crafting stand alone and not be dependant on someone else ripping us off for goods....Please keep bumping this and any help to elevate this issue would be appreciated....Please add your comments and how you all feel about it as well.....Do you feel the same? If I am being an Idiot just say so,,,Lol
Right now there is some decent, not good, but decent dath meat on Bria. The going rate is 25cpu and ever BE has jumped on that bandwagon to get some of that. To make a run of Med's it takes 20k of meat. 25cpu x 20k = 500k. Not including Flora, harvester time, factory time, my time and most importantly my Skill points. I say if you make a good enough living for you to not need tissues then go right on ahead. Whatever makes your play time easier. If you find that you want tissues again then I would grind out BE. With your patience you will do wonderful at it.

Thats some profit.
Like 250-300%? Unless you paid 100 cpu for your fruits and berries.
If you don't want to commit the points then face the fact that you have to pay for adds. Even at those prices all in all if you make good brandy and sell at over 150k, you're still making 100% profit. And that's just one example.
Chefs haven't got it that bad, after AS and WS we can make the most credits (which chef is obviously about for you).
- +220 Brandy,45m, 7 use, 50 fill (no tissue, small glass)
- This is a decent high-end non-enhanced brandy.
- Cost to you: 470 credits (including factory maint/power)
- Sale price: A
- +220 Brandy, 45m, 21 use, 50 fill (no tissue, but spending the 240 credits for 2 trim and 300 credits for the crystal gem)
- Cost to you: 988 credits
- Sale price: B
- +411 Brandy, 45m, 7 use, 50 fill (87 BSN costing 2680 each, small glass)
- Cost to you: 3178 credits
- Sale price: C
- +411 Brandy, 45m, 21 use, 50 fill (87 BSN, cask)
- Cost to you: 3698 credits
- Sale price: D
The sale price is going to depend on your server's market, but profit is a simple comparison of (A - 470), (B - 988), (C - 3178) and (D - 3698). But you'll also have to look at volume, so the price A, B, C, and D should be set such that the number of sales over a given period of time are equal. Otherwise you might get more profit for a given sale with (for example) unenhanced + casked, but be able to make up that difference in volume (due to demand) with enhanced + uncasked.
Based on my experience with customer demand, most chefs are able to sell more volume at higher per-item profit with the enhanced and casked product. It's completely up to you whether you choose to go that route, though. If you want to be a standalone chef, that option is there for you without having a "revolt" against BE and tailors.
And as a side note, if standard BSN prices are 67k per crate on your server, 120k for a crate of brandy is really too cheap. That's only about a 20% markup above base manufacturing costs. I usually determineprice by taking my production costs and marking up 50-75%, and I've gotten a few comments about how cheap my prices are compared to other chefs on my server.
