Hey there,

I got an E-mail from Xahn on Friday and thought I would share some of it with you. Nothing exciting or anything really. But if you are like me, any bit of communication is better than none.

"The reason we opened the correspondent positions up is because we've felt that we've been failing on getting the major issues for the professions from the community to the designers. I know at this point it's been somewhat of a disappointment because you haven't seen any progress. This should be changing very shortly. Next week you should see a post in your profession that outlines all the issues you've brought up from your first week (we're probably only going to get through one list a month) and the answers that were given from our design meetings with your questions and suggestions.

I want to thank you for putting in all the effort you have so far, and also for your patience. This has not been easy for you, and we're working as hard as we can to get the feedback that you deserve. The coming posts should answer your questions that you've brought up, and they should also start changes in motion regarding those questions and comments. I can't promise they will come right away. Some will come quickly, others will have to take a back seat as we work on our fixes/updates/promised features. At the least, you'll get the opinion from what the designer of your specific profession thinks about that issue. I think you'll be very please with this result.

We've accomplished a lot this week, and I think you're going to be really pleased with the results. I can't stress to you enough how much we appreciate your work. Many of these issues would not have been brought to light without you.

Forgive me for making this somewhat of a form letter, but I've just flown back from Austin today, and I'm dead tired. I just wanted to update you guys on what's going on. I figure even though I'm dead, you deserve to know what's happening and the changes you've started. Look for more next week, I'm going to be compiling the list from the design meetings we've had into a more postable format and get those out to your boards as soon as I can.

Thanks,

Glenn Snyder

Whoa, we have a specific designer?! Ours must have been drunk at the time. Slappin' back too many jawa beers to get into the spirit of things lol.

From the looks of some of the items our designer is a St. Bernard that drools on a keyboard.

Hmmmm.....

My GUESS is that the designer in charge of the chefs is also the designer in charge of other professions. What my FEAR is that he is concentrating on the other professions and ignoring us.

I also don't want to say he did a terrible job. I would rather say he did not finish his job. I remember there were several fixes that were suggest by the devs that would make this a much better profession...but NONE of them were put in before live....or in the first patch.

Discussions like that take time. We can't sit here and expect to hear back from the developers 2 or 3 days after you send in a report. They have to meet, discuss how changes will effect the game as a whole, and other professions.

Though now I'm really curious as to what they discussed and how they'll handle us... especially since I stuck through it and will have the Iron Chef (entrees 4) title tonight.

I think we all meant that he did a poor job to start off with, not about response to reports, which has been close to 2 weeks now not 2 days.

Liv,

I am not really faulting them for not getting back to me sooner. I am a bit impatient to get a response, but at the same time I understand that they are human, can only do so many things in one day and things like this happen. I really understand and don't blame them for taking a while to get back to us.

As Saitek said, my comments were more towards that, for me, this profession seems to be unfinished. It's like they did not do any double checking while in beta. They threw in the schematics and then forgot ablout them without seeing if what they did made any sense. At least, that is how appears to me.

Whoah there cowboy. (Anybody tell I saw Seabuscuit last night? Good movie)

Xahn means that they will probably only get to through one list from each profession a month. Originally they wanted one list from each profession a week, but I think that turned out to be a little too ambitious for them. So now they are going to go through 32 lists per month, one for each profession (remembering there is no Jedi correspondent.)

Hoggle, you just made my day~! lmao

At least he took the time out from being dead to give us a heads up. I travel a lot for business so I know just how deadening it can be. And SirV, I haven't made it a point to tell you yet, but I really appreciate your dedication. Thanks a mil for being our correspondent. *heart*
