Thread: My name is Dimok, and I'm a Holochef...
Hello to all the Chefs in the void. I've been reading up on Chef'fing lately as the holocron has commanded that I become an Iron Chef. I've spoken to a Chef on my server on how to best grind through Chef, but I wanted to get a few more opinions if I could. I believe so far I've heard Wastril until Mists, then Mists to master.
Would all of you agree that is an effective method? Also, I'm currently trying to gather all my grinding resources. I have 90k cereal (in the form of wheat and corn), but I know I need some more stuff. Any tips?
I have to admit, I was secretly praying I would get Chef (*IF* I was to be stuck with a crafting profession) even though it is a horribly broken class. I think there isat least a LITTLE bit of fun to be had. I enjoy using buffs with my character (when they are working) as it makes me more independent and I can generally solo a lot easier.
So, any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.
Part 1) Yes
Part 2) Need alot more then that, get some harvestors
Two things:
1) once you get Mixology I, if you're tired of looking at Wastril bread, you can make Deuterium Pyro's for 100 xp. Each one needs 15 rice, 15 reactive gas, and 15 metal so you would need to diversify your resource holdings.
2) Did the Holocron actually say Iron Chef, not Master? That'd be the first non-master title I've seen reported. And if all you need is Entrees IV (where you gain the Iron Chef title), you might be better off skipping mixology entirely, and focus on Wastril, then Stewed Gwouch once you hit Entrees I (20 water, 30 organic for 100 xp).
Nah, buddy. Just makin' a joke.

*squishes the holocrons* Im sick of hearing...my holocron says I need to master chef so Ill run a ton of schematics while Im there so I can sell stuff.. blech
Chefs complained before about all the 2/4 chefs watering the market down with sunburns...well guess what just happened to the whole market. I guess the only good thing is schematics wont last forever tho it seems everyone and his brother gets told to master chef.
I love being a chef but it makes me sad to know that there are going to be so many chefs that really dont care about the profession.
Dimok, the only reason I didn't mention Deuterium-Pyro's in game likeSCIguy did here, is because of the exact reason he mentioned.
You'd have to have additional types of resources for a small while to get to the Ith Mists.
If you'd like to go that route go ahead. -) It can speed up getting through Mix I and Mix II at least.

It's stuff like that that'll drive the REAL chefs out of business, and for what? So you could be a couple of hours closer to getting your next profession for a Jedi Padawan?
I know this won't really work now, and that Fratman is probably joking, but still...

I'm assuming Fratman was joking, but you could console yourself with the fact that even if he did do that, Sunburns only give 40 xp, the uxp would probably be another 20 for a total of 60 per stack. Compared to the 178 from mists, he'd effectively triple the timegrinding. Hmm, if the starshines were handcrafted, it'd probably be more like6 times. Plus all the time he'd have to spendfollowing his customers around saying "Are you done yet? Did you drink it? C'mon, drink it! It's good, bottoms up!" ![]()

You just gave half the chef population a massive stroke with that 10 credit comment, I hope you're happy. ![]()
But FYI, you do get xp when people eat/drink your food, provided they:
- Are in the same area you are logged in at
- eat the whole stack (you don't get any xp until the last dose is consumed).
The xp gained is about 50% of the original crafting xp. Pet's used to never get full, so it was possible for you to grind out a bunch of Wastril, give them to a friend with a pet, who'd feed it until they were all gone. No xp was gained with your own pet, just likeyou don't get anyif you eat your own food.
