Say that the nerf goes through the way it is now, how will your setup change. I know many will quit, and many will be upset, but I want to keep Chef. I know a lot of things will change in the economy if this change comes through, so how do you plan to change to keep up with it?

I personally use 2 vendors right now, all my Chef stuff on one, and loot items on another. I will probably stop the loot item one alltogether and make both for foods.

Will you increase the amount you sell foods for to lower the turn around rate?

Will you only stock the Best selling items?

Will you take email orders for foods instead of using the vendors?

I will probably only stock Ahrisa, Canape, Brandy, Bivoli and Synthsteak if the changes stay the way they are now. What items will you keep on stock after this?

I was selling fods dirt cheap ealier, i couldn't keep my vendors stocked for two days. I have recently made the prices a little higher, and i usually get a shelf life of 4-6 days for a full run of barndy or bivoli or whatever i sell. I have 4 vendors

1) Brany 2) Ahrisa and Canape 3) Bivoli 4) Weapon and Armor Repair tools. I hardly ever have more than 100 items on a single vendor at a time, buty i am also 4444 Merchant (damn AP). So anywho, i will definately not be dropping chef, if the constrict my vendor size, i will just be standing next to it to fill it up once its gets low.

Eh, the change won't be all that drastic. My first step will be to Master Merchent, and since i'm already 4/4/4/2, and maxed out on AP points it won't be too difficult. I will then use the extra vendors, to seperate foods. Such as Drinks on one vendor and Foods on another.

This nerf, assuming it goes ahead, is going to be great news for Chefs. I'm not a chef but I'm trying to learn more about the profession now that recursive macros are on their way out. Basically I've been spoilt with exceptional entertainer buffs on tap from guild buff-bots and I'm not going to spend my future game time hunting down the one or two entertainers in lagged cantinas that can match the quality of buffsI've become accustomed to. So instead, I'm just going to buy various mind food & drink in bulk, supplement with some spices and save myself a whole lot hassle. I know of a lot of people that are thinking along the same lines. Similarly, I'll likely also be buying other bits and bobs to help with other non-mind stats - on that subject, any chef on Chimaera selling Citros Snow Cake?

Good luck to all you chefs out there and get your vendors stocked

I will probably be adding more vendors for my Chef and Tailor business but custom orders seem like the way to go if this goes through.

First, the vendor changes won't go Live like they are in Test. They'll up those numbers, guaranteed.

Second, assuming the caps are still somewhat low, the first thing I'll have to do is stop selling food/frink singles. It's unfortunate but if I have limited vendor space,I can't waste that space on low profit singles. Judging by the number of singles I sell right now, this would undoubtably hurt the community because it's obvious there are quite a few ppl who can't afford full crates.

I agree with the not selling singles thing. I don't really sell singles now, not cuz of demand, becuase im kinda lazy about it. Whenever I do sell singles they seem to sell out first. Funny part is there are many times I will have a crate of 5 brandy on the vendor, and one person will buy 5 individual brandies. IF the change goes live the way it is now, I will only sell crates of 25.

i don't have any merchant, i don't want anouther account and i like combat also,(master chef (12point), master pikeman, with some scout to get meat for bio's)but i love chef

I use a friends extra vendor. I sell my food for good prices and have alot stocked on the vendor because i sell alot of the foods most don't stock. i dont know what im gonna do when this patch hits, i dont want to drop chef and i want to stock what my costomers want without having to log on 3 times a day to stock my vendor or take special order by e-mail. this patch is gonna hurt me and prob. alot of people who dont have multible accounts and dont want to throw all there points into artisan stuff.

The reson for me not likeing E-mail orders is i dont know when im gonna be on and i don't want to spend most of mytime droping off or meeting people to give them there orders. when i'm not cooking(which is fun and enjoying to me)i want to be able to have FUN in other areas of the game, whichSOE keeps trying to prevent us from doing.

So, i will not drop chef, but my vendor will be empty alot of the time and i will loose costomers, but hey if im not haveing fun in the game than i might as well not play at all

anyway my 2cents

First assumeing the limits go up at least some, this is probably what I'll do.

1) Get rid of non BE food. That saves me about 200 items there

2) 1-2 Vendor for Mind food, 1 for Drinks, 1-2 for Other food

The bare minimum I would even consider is 150 per vendor. I can't get Master Merchant, so 3004 or 0004 is all I'll have. Merchant gets the axe before BE ever would even if that means I can't make food for the public anymore. At 200 per vendor I could get away with 3 vendors. This would be my preferred setup if I needed more than 2. I still would consider giving up chef but it wouldn't be a gaurenteed quitting.

I may consider just a food delivery service though. Althought it would only be to people that have a vendor up and some minimum amount would be used(300k or 500k per order I'm thinking).

Right now though I wouldn't mind the current numbers going on. It would give me a lot more reason to give up crafting for the public. I'd have a heck of a lot more time available then. I still think thought it could be one of the worst things the devs have done to this game though.

Im just wondering......how do you figure the cap for a master merchant at 110 items per vendor NOT drastic? The cap at novice merchant is like 70 items i think i read. Thats just insane, Its a huge deal, and if you honestly think otherwise, i ask you to read up on it a little more. I have a Armor vendor (200+ items with packs) a chef vendor (500+ items) and a resource vendor (1000+ plus items) so i would be affected tremendously

I would have to drop almost everything if these changes actually go through.

Well, I wasn't talking about your business I was talking about mine. At Master Merchent, as I said in my post the only thing i would have to do is set up mutliple vendors in each location to sell specific things. So no, it will not be that drastic for me.

I'll go back to my original setup which is to have a small house with one fully stocked vendor and a small house devoted solely to warehouse/showroomfood crates and advertise on the public bazaars. Specific Email orders are needed to justify my time in making afactory run and regular non-BE foods will be disgarded since they almost never sell where i live.

Ewww!!! Sounds like i need to make a spreadsheet now, hire a accountant, report my taxes, wait for a business rebate, log out and /ponder why i'm so tired IRL at work as well as in game.

Definitely, i still love my professions: Master dancer and Master Chef which i wont give up so easily. This vendor thing is just a drawback for me only. I play SWG from a personal and social aspect, the income is helpful but it's something that comes secondary to me at this time.

1) Split vendor into separate Food and Drink vendors.
2) remove all less-than-full crates (I currently sell a variety of singles and crates of 5)
3) remove niche foods. Low-selling items like Dweezel simply can't be stocked under this limit.
4) accept that, at some times, my vendor will not be properly stocked and some customers will not find what they want.
