I'm making Elshandruu Pica Thundercloud (gives ranged def).

At the moment my final product is coming out to +23.54 ranged def, 16mins??secs, 16 filling, 18 qty. How much better can it be made?

Also I'm trying to make brandy and I thought I had really good resources howeverI'm having trouble getting past 405 buff while keeping the filling at 50 and time above 40mins. Do I need to be a 12point chef to do it or do my resources just suck lol.

I'veretired from fighting for a month or two(until jedi quests) and just started my chef. Please forgive the noob questions.

First if you made that Eishandru with 10 pts a 12 pt chef would likely add 2 mins to the duration, or 1 min to duration and 3 to the qty for a total of 21.

On the second part, if you are getting 405 with a 10 pt chef, you could probably make the same 405 rating but get closer to 45 mins by 2-3 mins. It depends on what you are maxing out at.

The way to test it is this.

Run a schematic and max the duration. See how many bars it takes.

Run a schematic and max the power. See how many bars it takes.

Etc.

Then you have a good idea of how much an extra two bars of exp will give you per stat.

I haven't ever put 10 points into power for brandy. Generally the difference in a 10 and 12 point chef comes down to secondary stats.

for brandy for example, I put 9 points into power and 3 into duration to come up with >+425 and >43 minutes. Your resources and addatives are probably what is keeping you from breaking +405, not your experiment points.

My first major batch of brandy came out at +400 M/F/W for 45 minutes at 50 filling. I think this stuff is quite good...I used some good quality berries & fruit with 86 rated BSN's to produce this stuff....I'm just a 10-point chef with an apron.

I'm a 12 pointer and I get my brandy over 400. Usually takes 7 points. I then put 4 points in duration, usally 46-47m and then 1 point most likely in filling. I never get good berries and fruit with good DR. On the rarity that I do, then I put the extra point in quantity.

Thundercloud, like all other drinks in the game besides brandy, are pretty worthless, because of brandy. I won't make the stuff again. It won't sell even at 20k a crate.

The key if you only have 12 points is to have great resources, of course, but more important is to have great additives.A 87 BNS will save you a point compared to 82/83s. If you get thoseextra points, then you can use the lowerquality additives just fine and be competive. Gives you more options that way. That is the true power behind those extra points.

I would have to disagree with Thundercloud being worthless. Its just like the mele food, it gives +20-25 ranged def above the cap if you are already capped. To a Fencer this makes them more uber (I should know since I'm currently a Fencer as well). I would rather go get Entertainer buffs from a guildee and eat/drink stuff that will enhance my current abilities. The reason why people lose so bad in PvP these days is because they are stuck in this notion that to win you must fill up with brandy and canape so in a sense I see your point of it being worthless as a retailer.

Thanks for all the information everyone. For some reason I thought with more experiment tapes you get better amazing successes when combining the food at first and when experimenting on it with your points later. I guess the only difference is you get 2 more points and that is it. I can live with that.

My point was that it is worthless because they can not take it since their stomach is already full on brandy. Once the armor goes on, every point in the mind stats count. Ahrisa sells very well because of this. The HAM costs need to be next to zero to maintain the mind. The effect of Thundercloud is fine, why I made the stuff before. The fact that it is a drink is what makes it worthless.

I agree with the last poster. Right now, the emphasis on Mind and the benefits of Brandy are so strong that all other drinks designed to assist with combat are devalued considerably. If and when Mind HAM is no longer the be all and end all of combat, there are a lot of drinks that are going to be much more in demand than they are right now. Actually, it's not just drinks. If they nerf Doc buffs, there's at least 4 or 5 foods that will suddenly be in demand. Right now there's no need to buff Health or Action (or their secondaries) because buffs more than do the trick.

I make Thundercloud and it sells really well, it's sold out everytime I've made it. Not everyone has their entire food or drink stomach's dedicated to mind.

There are a few people that sell the odd drinks and food. They sell well I think because very few people sell them. I made a run of Ithorian Mist a week or so ago and its selling very well. I doubt it will continue but it just gives people options. I don't mind some of those foods because they aren't hard to keep in stock. That 40 crate run will last me at least 4 weeks, probably closer to 5-6. There is no way a run of and mind food will stay on my vendor that long.

The same goes for many of the skill bonus foods. Bivoli I would say is the one exception along with maybe havla although that might change with the CM fix going in today. I just find it very easy to make 40 crates and let it sit on my vendor for 6 weeks. The worst situtation is I have to restock them in 30 days because the timer goes out.
