Thread: An overlooked food?

I got a request for "that food that makes burst run not cost anything" and did some poking around.

If you put a medium additive into a Parwan Nutricake (it doesn't even have to be that good of a nutrition bonus) you can get the HAM decrease up to 100. This appears to be a percentage decrease (like downer reduction for Smuggler's Delight).

With some decent resources, I got a 100% HAM decrease, 68% recovery time decrease (so it only takes about 3m before you can burst again), filling of 28 and stack of 5. A couple of drawbacks: it's not a "triggered" food, you burst run as soon as you eat it. I found that if you're still recovering from a previous burst, you get the "too tired" message but still eat a dose. And there is still some amount of HAM paid, I think the bonus may be hard capped at around 90% (unbuffed I got a -243, with the cake I got -24).

So what do you think? Or am I the only one who missed this food?

I'm a melee fighter with zero Terrain Negotiation so I love this food. I pop a Parwan cake (Recovery decrease 62 or so) whenever anyone kites me. I can burstrun up to them and be ready to do it again in three minutes.

Before Parwan I would only use burstrun in a serious emergency, since it took about ten minutes to be able to run again.

I love this stuff. I use Travel Biscuits as well for a little terrain neg boost when I'm around hills.

I've enhanced this for flavor, since I would rather be able to burstrun without recovery time. At first, based on system messages, I thought that 89% recovery time reduction would be ideal. With that timing, you would burst run for a minute, be tired, then get the no longer tired message six seconds later. I figured that it would be plagued by a problem similar to Smuggler's Delight, in that if reduction was too high, the effect wouldn't work properly.

With 90+% recovery time reduction, you will get the no longer tired message while still in the burstrun state. When your burstrun ends, you get the tired message. However, you can in fact burstrun normally or eat another serving of nutricake with no delay. The ones I made are 25 filling, so they allow for 5 burstruns in a row, with no delay (4 nutricakes followed by normal burstrun).

I make it...not much but I do make it.

I get about the same stats as you. I would love to goof with Flavor Additives more..but they are almost impossible to come by...the ones I do get I use for 25 min Canaps.

I make almost every food a chef can make. BoH is one I dont make...and a few other ones I dont consider worth my time.

Some of the foods I make and sell I am amazed at... I really didnt think there would be a market for it. For example the Incap recovery.... I sell 5 cases a week..not TONS but still.

I'd rather see that BE'd for duration, to get the burst run wait time eliminated or reduced to a few seconds. HAM costs are no big deal, esp with buffs, its that waiting to burst again that can get you killed. Tho maybe a limited use for something with low HAM cost usage if you get jumped and don't have the HAM to burst with normal costs

Sounds like K-18 rations under Dom-arts 2

I started making this after a customer requested it, and I can hardly keep it in stock. People will buy 2, 3, 4 cases at a time. I'm guessing there aren't many chefs making it, but it is definitely gaining in popularity.

I make it with multisaccharide tetramate (the medium flavor enhancer) with decent milk and very good veggies. Then I've collected some flowers, wheat, wild rice, and fruits with high FL (normally it's the least important stat for me) that I use just for this recipe. It's not hard to get the buff to 100 percent, or close to it, with a point or two left over for filling.

It's very hard to find the additive for sale, so I buy large quantities of good milk when I can find it and hire a BE to make a schematic.

Yes, except K-18 rations reduce my burst run recovery from around 10 minutes to around 8 minutes. Not extremely practical in PVP.

Parwan drops it to 2 minutes recovery time, which is just peachy.

A guild-mate is looking for as much as I can make him - I think there are times in PvP when it's time to run away, very fast.

Well I've overlooked it and will give it a shot.

Travel biscuits sell well, especially to Jedi, but I've been making K18's instead of the Nutricake. I'll give it a shot and pass some along to my meleers.

Three otherfoods that I do well with but don't hear talked about often:

-Air Cake - Low cost Dodge food that is only 10-11 filling

- Ormachek - 5% XP (non-crafting) Bonus. Very filling, but good for folks trying to grind out the end of a Class mastering (especially if only receiving combat XP on kills). Doesn't utilize a BE additive so relatively cheap to make

- Veghash - Creature Harvesting bonus

Well, I put some crates up, unenhanced, one batch focusing on cheaper HAM, the other on faster recovery. I'll see how it does. For the people who have been selling these, which seems to do better? Should I try to track down some Multisaccharides?

Well I had never heard of this stuff until this post, My main character is a pikeman, and if i can experiment this to be able to burst run 2-3 times in a row, I may not even sell it to the general public. This food could be truly amazing for melee classes...
