What happens when you do not have food available to feed your pet ? Does he turn on you ? Also, how do you play with your pet when you get the message ?

You're obviously new...

It wants to be fed because it has Health and Action wounds. Just store and recall it or if you have Survival skills, use /forage and see if you get some food from the ground.

As for play, you need Empathy I or Empathy II (obviously one is a precursor to the other). Emp I gives the Trick1 command which heals mind damage and wounds. Emp II gives you Trick2 which is a different trick, but it does the same thing. Though I believe they are bugged and Trick1 is not supposed to heal damage while Trick2 is supposed to.

What is the best food, in any, to feed our pets. Also, should we feed them every time they say they are hungery. Could someone tell me where I can find a mountain Dewback; I'm on Starsider server. Finally, I herad that babies won't be walking around anymore, we will have to stir the nest to get them to come out. Is that true?

At this point food is food....and no you dont have to feed them everytime they spam 'hungry', hopefully (But not likely) this will be cut down with the new 'patch'. One thing I do is feed my pet after a fight and i notice he has wounds to health or action... the food heals the black area without the need for medics. Dewback? Sorry, cant help you there..hope the other info comes in handy.

Mountain Dewbacks I find east of Mos Eisley. Tamed one there, but have since released him He was too chicken in fights and needed the slots. Eventually I will train another as a mount

Any food works. My carnivores and herbivores alike are fed travel biscuits or bofa treats, and they do the trick. Heck, in a pinch, I feed my gsp ubermelons, and he adores them. One way to get those terrible loci of power off the server so the devs can get back to nerfing elite professions.

Is there a way to specify what food you give your pet when it's hungry? After a few fights, my pet needed feeding, so I did a little forage and fed him. Checking my inventory, the foraged stuff was still there, but 1 of my precious Muon Golds had disappeared! The pet didn't trip out, but that is bloody expensive catfood.

LOL. I am not laughing at your problem... well I am... "Expensive Catfood" just cracked me up.

I have no idea. Never had the problem. Looks like you will need to expirament with it. If there is no easy clear cut answer, something to request of the devs. My guess... and the long tiresome way... open your inventory, split a stack of "FOOD" and drag one item onto your pet. Maybe that would work. I would test, but I am at work. Certainly will be something to play with when I can get online again.

That has happened to me more than once... And it sucks! I now keep it in crates until i have to use it. I take one or two out and ready to use before pvp or high level npc's and critters. If i manage to only use one and have some muon's left i store them in my backpack. If anything keep your muon's in your backpack not your inventory.

I normally store them in a crate, in my backpack. I had fished out a couple to do some DNA sampling and didn't realise you could feed your pet with drugs (what is this world coming to?)

I usually feed mine travel biscuits or whatever they're called. You can get a stack of them pretty easily (especially if you have Novice Artisan - 8 Flora, 8 Hide or whatever)

That happens to me too. Like the others have said ... I try to keep the MG in my backpack. You can't get an item from a crate during combat so I make sure I have some out and ready in there. I buy crates of bofa treats for pet food and get those out and put them in my regular inventory.
