Thread: Vishna's weekly irritation thread :)
Im board at work now that they shut down the SWG main forum. 
Now i know it wasa bunch of whining and ultimatums most of the time, but i cant tell you. It gave me something to do at work. And anytime a bug surfaced there were 30 people screaming about it in there way before the server or prof boards.
Also has anyone else noticed that since they shut the board down that the Dev posts have dropped to nill and that Thunderheart has posted like 5 times in days and days. Just annoys me I guess. What was wrong with leaving the general board going? Its not like they had to go in there and read the threads and respond to them.
And tuesday has come and gone with no word on the test publish of the chef changes. Looks like i might win the bet on friday. Although next tuesday is looking better and better. Secretly i dont think we'll even hear from them again until the next major publish where they will say "soon" again and then maybe a week after that it will go to test. Maybe.
Bah been at work for 13 hours now and im getting cranky... hehe just ignore my ramblings

they're just doing it sony style. Would you like to place bets on how long the forums remain open at all?
I agree with the statement that they really didnt have to read the SWG discussion forums if they didn't want to. Besides good place to go and vent your feelings.

well the more annoying thing is that they're severely cracking down on posts/threads that criticise any part of the dev team...even if they deserve it.
sure getting whined to/bitched at all day long sucks, and having to read thread after thread with lots of posts saying the same thing can be tedious...but its not like they're giving us much other choice. when things don't work, people need to at least vent their frustrations, and if devs make mistakes, and act as if theres nothing wrong...well thats more than deserving of as many complaints as it takes to get it fixed.
take the chef revamp being pushed back due to "scheduling problems"....if it was only a scheduling problem, why not simply release more information similar to the artisan food info. if they did that I'd feel a lot less like they're just making up an excuse cause they don't have anything done, as opposed to feeling as if they needed to fix a few more bugs before they pushed it to TC.
it feels more and more like how they gave us the news that chefs were getting a revamp...just to quiet us down a bit...perhaps we need to start becoming mean and nasty towards the devs again just to get more info out of them. it doesn't seem like asking nicely, and waiting patiently is getting us anywhere.
It's stupid, because without the SWG discussion board, and with admins closing threads and editing messages, all the Devs are ever going to see is positive feedback.

Was a tiny bit hurt by: it feels more and more like how they gave us the news that chefs were getting a revamp...just to quiet us down a bit... Since I am the one who usually brings the information, I asked for clarification. But then I calmed down, re-read the post, understood what he meant a little better and decided it wasn't worth getting into.

Please understand that any ranting we do toward the information we get (or dont as the case may be) is never directed at you hun. We all know that you can only tell us what your given and even then sometimes you cant tell us if told not to.
I hereby declare this thread no longer a info/board rant thread!

No, I agree with you about the discussion board.
Anyway, that's why I said nevermind. As you were. 
I know you do your best to give us what information you can, but it just seems like the only time they give you any information that you can share with us...is when we start getting really upset. yes some of the devs are really busy, and spending more time making sure things work is a good thing...but surely 5 minutes to give you some new information isn't asking all that much...is it?
if they could just release something that IS for chefs, something that we can make, or do...not tailors, not BE's, not scouts, not artisans...it would be nice. the info that they gave us is very very good, but unfortunately should have been given and released in the appropriate profession's forums as well, even if it is related to "our" revamp. if they've already released some specific information about chefs...well ok, I guess the drink container counts, but other than that, all I've seen is things for other professions. given SOE's past track record regarding chefs...well it doesn't inspire much trust that all it was was a scheduling problem. if they could even say "sorry but we felt it wouldn't be fair to DE's if their change didn't get pushed to TC, when the chef revamp was pushed on" it'd go a long way towards regaining a lot of lost trust.
SirVimes you and TH are trying your hardest...but theres only so much either of you can do, and at least to most of us...it doesn't seem like 1 PR guy, and a bunch of correspondents are making much of a change in some very bad policies regarding information sharing.
normally I'd just vent on the SWG Discussion forum...but its closed now so theres not a lot of other places to vent. and theres only so many positive things I can post without seeing some kind of positive change from the devs.
hrmm number of dev responses in chef forum...number of dev responses in DE forum....pretty easy to see just where priorities lie. As far as TH is concerned....hes ignored me every time Ive tried to say a word to him or asked for help or pleaded for help. How many times has he posted here? In my eyes, TH is just a name to slow people down from getting to the real meat. And he does that by ignoring people in my experience. We've always been the redheaded stepchild. We will probably always be the redheaded stepchild.
Yeah, of course I know you meant no offense. Something else was bthering me, so I was a little more...easily annoyed than normal. Still think you good people.
Anybody have the dvd for Finding Nemo?
